They have been armed since the 1970s...right after the FLPMA became law.

“The BLM launched the CDCA ranger program after the passage of FLPMA. BLM rangers were then trained at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia.”

I Live Here and Johnny is spot on. The owners were given NO, I repeat NO, notification of the open(?) meeting(s) by the BLM. We knew something was going on when BLM showed up sometime back and started surveying. They said it had been awhile since a survey had been done and they were just updating the survey. We started waiting for the next shoe to drop. Then comes the BLM report. It states they have been approached by horse riding clubs wanting access to riding trails on the Red River and others wanting access (for hunting, etc). I have neighbors who inherited land from their fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers. Land they were literally born on. We are SCARED, very SCARED. Our congressman seemed to give us no support. Thank GOD for Atty Gen Abbott and for other Patriotic Americans who are supporting & standing with us.

The GOP politicians are tight lipped when it comes to Bundy during the confrontation the other weekend but now they have seized on Harry Reid’s crazy comments and anger at the BLM that’s evident in public opinion to pretend they support Bundy’s cause by talking about the BLM or Reid.

THE ISSUE IN TEXAS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG TIME BUT NOW ABBOTT CHOOSES TO MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT IT. YES, NOW BECAUSE THE BLM HAS BECOME AN ISSUE.

Politicians horn in on issues all the time with words but how about a trip to Nevada to stand with Cliven Bundy and his family?

The BLM certainly did start things like their confiscation of the Bundy cattle.

The Republican politicians were tight lipped when the people showed up the other weekend to defend the Bundy Family and drive the BLM out.

They kept their lips sealed in the immediate aftermath of the confrontation.

Now once the dust settles a week plus later Abbott makes noise about the BLM to create an impression that he supports the Bundy’s by bringing this up.

When Abbott and other GOP politicians say “I support Bundy” and show up to have their pictures taken with him, I’ll say they really mean it.

This is a show for public opinion, not a serious principled stand with Cliven Bundy and his family.

You are full of crap. You have no clue what is going on.

The BLM is having public meetings NOW about the 90,000 acres.

People like me have been calling and writing Abbott since word came out about the meetings, telling him to put a stop to this since he's our Attorney General.

Just because you can't keep up with current events, don't accuse Abbott of grand-standing, when he's getting pressure from Texans to uphold the Red River Boundary Compact.

Frigging low information morons......

quote "Texas Gov. Rick Perry warned the federal Bureau of Land Management to stay away from Texas amid new concerns that it may be looking to claim thousands of acres of land in the northern part of the state."

"“It’s not a dare, it’s a promise that we’re going to stand up for private property rights in the state of Texas,” Perry said."

You really aren't too bright, are you?

What Abbott is doing has nothing to do with Cliven Bundy and Nevada.

It is all to do with upholding the Red River Boundary Compact against the BLM.

Is that Obamaspeak? Can I get a translator please?

LOL! I don't 'speak' Obama, but I was married to a sociopath for over 15 years, so, if you don't mind, I'll take a shot at it.

-----

on a case brought by two private landowners, each seeking to adjust boundary lines for their respective properties. The BLM was not a party to any litigation between landowners.

A lawsuit was filed between 2 landowners because of a property line contention. The BLM was neither a party nor a witness in the suit.

The 140-acres were at no time held in private ownership”

THIS is where it gets interesting. While the Constitution gives the feds authority over certain types of 'waterways', these were originally meant for major shipping conduits, whereas today, the feral government has decided it means anywhere a body can float.

So, to THEM, the 140 (116) acres “at no time held in private ownership” because it falls under the waterway provision.

Hope that helps. :-)

That’s exactly what it is, make no mistake. He couldn’t get a nationwide total ban on guns so now he is testing the enemies defenses. I always remember what GW Bush said; “Terrorism will attack from where we least expect it”. What is the one place you would have never expected? From our own White House. Did you ever think in a million years after 911 that one day we would have an Islamic communist as President and an Iranian as his senior adviser? But that’s Democrats for you. They not only support enemies of the US, they also put them in power.

They really believe that is no such thing as truth. Everything is just a matter of perception.

Yes, exactly. Used to be that even a principled, popular president like Reagan would employ positive imagery, well-crafted language and personal persuasion--leadership, in other words--to bring his policies into place.

With these people it is a matter of perception and raw power. They present a fake, fear-mongering image and then send in the lawyers, bureaucrats and guns.

This is a show for public opinion, not a serious principled stand with Cliven Bundy and his family.

Why does it all have to be about Cliven Bundy? Isn't it possible that there are land use/ownership issues that don't concern Bundy?

Considering that about 99.999999999% of all land use and ownership issues in this country have absolutely no connection whatsoever to Cliven Bundy, I'd say it's way more than possible.

With Texas Rangers securing the Texas side of the river, BLM would be wise not to cross the river.

Strange that such a land grab is along a major river.

Water issues are getting hotter every day in the West.
