A disgraceful Keystone decision delay
AmericanThinker.com ^ | 4/19/2014 | Thomas Lifson

The Obama administration signaled its shame* over a nakedly political decision to indefinitely delay the Keystone Pipeline by burying the news on Good Friday afternoon. The decision was bought and paid for by wealthy green ideologues and green energy rent-seekers, anxious to cash in on subsidies for solar panels, windmills, and other expensive projects that are guaranteed a positive return by taxpayer money.

WHA................ Wow! I could have sworn this was a "gimme" and now we have a Friday afternoon news dump telling us there's another delay. Who ever saw that coming? LOL! Probably a lot of us saw that coming. No doubt there will be no decision until after Nov. Maybe they're just waiting for john f'n kohn-heinz-kerry to return from his "successful" peace keeping mission to get his haughty, much superior, intellectual thoughts on it.

We should “Alinsky” these enemies of the people. We need to start going after environmental groups the same way the left went after Sarah Palin. Lawsuit after lawsuit and make them spend money while barring taxpayer funds from getting to them.

Reagan successfully did this to the Soviets. The way to destroy the left is to bankrupt them.

Every sane person I’m this country ought to be clambering for Keystone approval. But you just can’t make this stuff up it defies logical imaginations.
In Chicago now the murder rates are being fudged by declassification of crimes. Result looking good just like the health care roll out, cooking the books. Keep in mind the Mayor’s grazing range.
Then on a lighter note the Land Rover concept vehicle (Discovery) has a transparent bonnet ( hood). Said to offer driver s better view of terrain normally blocked by the front. Like a cliff? Transparency to see demise.

The decision was bought and paid for by wealthy green ideologues and green energy rent-seekers, anxious to cash in on subsidies for solar panels, windmills, and other expensive projects that are guaranteed a positive return by taxpayer money.

The author misses a big player on this list.

The Keystone XL project isn't being blocked by the Obama administration for environmental reasons. It's being blocked as part of an effort to effectively nationalize the U.S. oil resources by making it more difficult to export oil. This is why there's actually a huge glut of oil in North America, and why the last few years have seen a consistent lag in the price of West Texas Intermediate on the global oil markets compared to Brent Crude.

The "big player" I was referring to is the U.S. railroad industry, which has done a booming business moving oil in the absence of sufficient pipeline capacity. It's worth noting that Warren Buffett, a big Obama supported, is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway -- which owns the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad, one of the largest railroads in the United States.

The decision has already been made. They aren’t going to allow it to be built. This tactic to announce another delay in making the decision is purposeful. It keeps the environmental lobby fired up and spending money on the coming election. It effective freezes billions of dollars waiting to be invested in creating jobs and expanding economic activity. It also keeps the investors funneling millions of dollars to lobbyists and campaign funds of politicians. In addition it hurts relations with Canada.

An administration desiring a vibrant economy would make these decisions quickly knowing that uncertainty is a drag on the economy. After six years of studying the issue the only reason you would continue to delay is if you wanted to hurt the economy or the business interests promoting the investment.

No doubt. Lucky for us we’ve “turned the corner and the recovery is well under way” huh?

The decision is a slam dunk, easy one to make. It will be overturned after President Trainwreck is gone.

Keystone will create North American oil independence by 2017. Middle Eastern and other offshore big oil interests like the Rockefellers and Saudi Princes see their market shrinking and are paranoid, while industrialists like Buffet stand to lose lucrative rail contracts. Millions are being channeled through various organizations like Tides Foundation, to fund anti-oil sands activities and propaganda...The delays have nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with pandering to big democratic financial supporters. Crony capitalism at it's worst and and another blow to American exceptional ism.
