Rand Paul Chides Harry Reid For Calling Bundy Family Domestic Terrorists

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) called for “calmer heads to prevail” in the showdown between the Bundy family and the federal government.

Paul chided Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) for calling the family and their supporters “domestic terrorists.”

“I don’t think calling people names is going to calm this down; I think its liable to stir it up, so I think all parties including Sen. Reid should calm the rhetoric a little bit. Let’s try to have a peaceful resolution to this,” Paul said during an interview on Fox News Thursday night.

Paul added that he believed that the Endangered Species Act had been abused for years, calling it “government run amok.”

“We have to balance the needs of a turtle and the needs of man, and the needs and the rights of property owners,” he said.

Paul didn’t go nearly far enough. Of course, neither did any GOPer that I’ve heard about.

I'd like everybody to just think about WHY he used those terms? Any guesses. What does the government get to do if you get labeled as such? He used those words and knew exactly what he was doing. Need to start trying to collect emails or any source intel in DOJ, BATF, IRS and any other alphabet agency.

These clowns are playing for keeps. They want a confrontation, they want to intimidate and threaten law abiding citizens. They are allowing criminals and illegals privileges that they don't for American citizens.

Intel is the key. We need anybody with friends and family working within the system to start collecting data for Conservatives.

True, it's called "signalling" ... the other big example of it we've been talking about recently are the statements by Senator Whitehouse pretty much giving the green light to (if not directing) the IRS to go after Conservative/Tea Party groups.

Yes, there should be Congressional subpoenas put out to the various federal agencies involved (Interior/BLM, DoJ) to save and turn over ALL internal or interagency correspondence relating to Sen Reid's statements.

Ditto. This is about more than Bundy’s cows eating some grass. This is about a crooked connected politician lining his own pockets and using the government to do it. I want to hear Paul, Cruz, Palin talk about that.
