Megyn Kelly and the Sandberg Head Shaker
The American Thinker ^ | 4-15-14 | Richard F. Miniter

Posted on 04/16/2014 6:17:55 AM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box.

Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru more than one segment and just let her crank. And when Megyn did push Sandberg about the feminist’s relevance in today’s world; e.g. the blithe acceptance of the wilding of Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and other conservative females or the alienation of many women by gratuitous displays like Gloria Steinem posing in an “I Had An Abortion” tee shirt and she ducked the questions, Kelly let her slide right back into her comfort zone. “Men have run this country for far too long”, “we have to find a way to come together”, “different messages for women start early”, people “expect men to be leaders and women help others”, “…women second shift and men don’t…”, “as men get more successful, they are liked more. As women get more successful, they are liked less.”

The lady simply found emotional common ground with Kelly and exploited it. Probably researched her beforehand. Its a common method used to get spies to defect... Lol

Sheryl Sandberg has been able to write her own ticket for quite a while. Just about every high tech company out there would love to have her and would actively recruit her if she was available. She's a self-made billionaire.

Sad that despite her accomplishments, she apparently feels she needs to cling to the old feminist dogma and see herself as part of a "victim class."

Lost all respect for Kelly. She needs to go. She is not ready for prime time.

America was a better place when real men ran it.

I’m not convinced that Kelly isn’t just a very good actress playing a conservative role, and that sometimes, she lets her real self slip.

Dump her? Why would should they dump her? Kelly is there for the same reason the others are. Ratings. And like the others, she spews what the audience wants to hear, not necessarily what she believes.
To be honest, since all of our news emanates from either Washington or New York, I suspect none of the Fox anchors believe a word they are spewing. My guess is their politics are closer to MSNBC or al Jezzera than they are to Tom Tancredo’s

She has been doing that lately. She fooled me a while ago, but no more. At the very least, she is a feminist.

Yeah, lots of Sandberg’s shtick makes me sick.

But she is a) right about men becoming more popular with success and the inverse for women, b) undeserving of Miniter’s scorn as unaccomplished for being the COO of Facebook. What kind of idiot is he to think the long-time COO of a company like Facebook hasn’t proven herself? Is just along for the ride of men’s accomplishments? Somehow has to trot out additional evidence of her contributions to be given respect for her position?

Miniter does more to prove himself a bitter little punk in this piece than in taking down Kelly or Sandberg.

Sheryl Sandberg is a feminist bully who smiles while she inserts the shiv. How disappointing that Kelly allowed herself to be played by this tool.

Women just seem incapable of NOT bonding together emotionally, incorrectly, about their perceived injustices against them. it is the nature of women to get together in gaggles and whisper and gossip about how horrible men are, or how horrible that other woman is.

How ironic that Sandberg and Kelly each have net worths millions, or tens of millions, and they go on about how oppressed they are.

How about the fact that boys are being left behind in education? How about the ongoing cultural war on men, as evidenced by every TV commercial and sitcom? How about the fact that women now outnumber men in college?

Sheryl Sandberg is a liberal Democrat tool who is doing little more than helping Obama gin up support for the November elections by whispering in the ears of many low-information women voters how rotten they have it and that men are the source of all their woes.

Sheryl Sandberg is selling the same message the snake in the Garden of Eden sold to Eve.

Maybe Megyn doesn't understand that all of this sexist stuff is geared towards turning out the female vote in Nov.

Maybe she doesn't realize she's being manipulated to carry the message.

Megan Kelly and Bill O'Reilly are not conservatives. If you read some of their background and writings it becomes obvious that they are not social conservatives.

Buyer Beware.

"Just about every high tech company out there would love to have her and would actively recruit her if she was available. She's a self-made billionaire."

I saw the interview and thought she sounded like a college sophomore who just sat through a semester of the teachings of Gloria Steinem and had no cogent thoughts of her own. I kept asking myself how a person like that can get people to follow them.

“as men get more successful, they are liked more. As women get more successful, they are liked less.”

To the extent this is true, I suspect that it is strongly correlated to the sex of the judger.

You are being too generous. Of course she's aware of it. Only question is, is Kelly also on message.

I too am getting so tired of the “women are victims” mantra. I have a sister in law that thinks all her problems are because of men and corporations, refusing to think maybe her problems are her own damn fault. And get this, she is an attorney!!!!!

Oh hell, I married the only female in that family that knows there is a difference between men and women and corporations are run by, men and women.
