For those curious about the legal details: I hadn't heard about Hage v. United States. I looked it up. They were originally awarded $14.4 million in damages, but that was overturned on appeal. Hage's estate (He died in 2006.) received no money in the end.

I thought it was 4.2 million then judge added another 150,000 before overturned
