The heat in the IRS investigation just went up. Rep. Darrell Issa, head of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent a letter today to ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings in which he accuses Cummings of working to "obstruct the investigation" into IRS misbehavior.
The bulk of Rep. Issa's letter is devoted to some recently uncovered emails which demonstrate that Rep. Cummings was seeking information on True the Vote, the voter integrity group based in Texas which became the target of much unwanted government attention.
Cummings' staff contacted the IRS in August 2012 to inform them that they would be opening an investigation into True the Vote's activities. Then in October 2012 Cummings' office began requesting information directly from True the Vote which was very similar to what had previously been requested by the IRS.
For instance, in February the IRS requested information True the Vote's software and training materials. Rep. Cummings office also asked for information on True the Vote's software and training materials in their October 2012 request. Issa's letter suggests the similarities might be more than a mere coincidence, "This timeline and pattern of inquiries raises concerns that the IRS improperly shared protected taxpayer information with your staff."
Five days after Rep. Cumming's first letter to True the Vote in October 2012, in which he requested information on "training materials used for volunteers," the IRS sent True the Vote another request asking for information on volunteers and training.
Then in January 2013, Cummings' office sent a request for information on True the Vote public tax information to the IRS...

It’s been very hard to allow the wheels of justice to turn in this case. To me and many others it seemed that Issa just wasn’t pushing hard enough to get to the truth here.
I am guessing that these emails are part of the ones the IRS was forced to release which they claimed would take months to fully redact.
I am willing to give Rep. Issa the benefit of the doubt and hope that today’s revelations means that he is getting close to real action against those who used the government to intimidate American citizens for their political views.
Nobody is going anywhere until this news gets published in one or more MSM news outlet.

True the Vote had to be stopped and that is why the IRS and Cummings have done what they did.
Voter fraud is rampant in the USA and the Marxist/Progressive’s are pulling the stops to prevent any investigation into the fraud.

Cummings is to the Democrats in the House as Dana Milbank and E.J. Dionne are to the Wash. Post, i.e. hatchmen and smear artists.
He is typical of most of Maryland’s black politicians - shrewd, deceptful, liars and hardcore leftists. Coming from Baltimore, I knew a lot about how the Black Democrat machine worked. There was a liberal, honest faction but they got destroyed by the criminal element and their liberal allies.
That is why one Baltimore black mayor went to jail, along with other city officials, and others were driven out of office by the honest voters.
However, mental corruption among the black political body is endemic, as it is in Phila., NYC, Cleveland, parts of Houston, LA, Detroit, St. Louis/E. St. Louis, Kansas City, and CHICAGO.
It will take generations and the Apocalypse to clean out these crooks, commies and fools, and the same applies to the White Democrat machines in many of those same cities.
