Posted on 04/09/2014 12:45:26 PM PDT by tcrlaf
Twitter Hashtag #Donetsk has gotten busy in the last hour, especially after this Tweet from a UK blogger stating that the media was gathering, on rumor that the storming of the Donetsk Barricades was imminent.
UStream live feed from the Donetsk Barricades. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/artem77?utm_campaign=t.co&utm_source=ustre.am%2F1b876&utm_medium=social&utm_content=20140409121554 Has been up for a while, but down the last 5 minutes.
Several recent tweets about "Blackwater mercenaries being seen around/in Donetsk.
Euromaidan PR tweets: "Rossiya 24 TV channel illegally broadcast by Donetsk administration captured by separatists."
Acting President Turchynov orders to take Donetsk RSA under state security
Numerous Twitter reports and Videos of Ukrainian troops, including heavy artillery and tanks, escorted by police, moving near Donetsk, at last report about 10k outside of the city. Local Civilians are impeding them by walking in the way, or having cars 'breakdown" on the roads.
Edge of cliff..?
Feels scary, got a bad feeling.
If it ends with bloodshed, I don’t imagine Russia taking it well.
But Kiev is in no mood to listen to reason.
Kiev is exactly where the Russians will head if they’re serious about dealing with the Ukrainian radicals.
I think this is exactly what Putin is hoping for. He has spent the past several weeks doing everything possible to foment disturbances in Eastern Ukraine. Not so easy when the general sentiment does not favor a Russian annexation.
Video of crowd gathering to slow a Ukrainian tank column near Donetsk.
I care far more about what is happening in Nevada.
What reason? A group of armed terrorists holding large city hostage and making demands does not need reasons. It needs swift and decisive annihilation.
What would we do if ethnic language speakers suddenly took over government buildings and demanded a referendum to join a foreign country? (San Diego? Los Angeles, Miami, El Paso?)
There is no reasoning with the psychotic genocidal mass-murderer KGB Putin.
“A group of armed terrorists holding large city hostage and making demands does not need reasons. It needs swift and decisive annihilation.”
You mean, like the Maidan?
Can’t be true. Jay Carney/WH have denied any involvement from Greystone, etc.
Remember, if you like your doctor you can keep him.
If you are a Ukrainian and don’t like the Neo-Nazi Svoboda having 1/4 of the interim gov’t seats then you don’t have to keep them. They can trust this.
Remember when the WH said that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt was “largely secular”?
Remember McCain’s serious love for the KLA, then the pics of him with radical Syrian rebels, and now Svoboda leaders?
“What would we do if ethnic language speakers suddenly took over government buildings and demanded a referendum to join a foreign country?”
Depends, are we in an open Civil War, with an unelected government in power by coup?
How would the tribes at Wounded Knee feel about that?
Too many variables to make a fair comparison.
The “Foreign Mercenaries” look Slavic to me. They’re probably just Ukrainians and therefore not foreign at all.
Lessay Russian mercs helped “Forces of Atzlan” take over San Diego for Mexico:
How would WE feel..?
Lessay they were following the orders of a gay, muzzie Russian leader who HATES God and ordinary Russians:
What would we say...?
Everyone in that part of Ukraine speaks Russian. That is not the delineating factor. Actual ethnic Russians comprise 10% of that of the population in that area. Putin is doing everything possible to provoke a violent response to the takeover of the government buildings by his rent-a-mobs. He needs bloodshed to justify an invasion into Ukraine.
No, I mean like Russian scum floating in and around Ukraine. Maidan was a National Revolution, the terrorist actions by Russian “tourists” and various degenerates is just that - terrorism.
Putin’s Neo-Soviet puppets tried to crush the Maidan by force but they failed!
Very satisfactory. Traitors need to be beaten. Then shot.
I agree, tough to identify, but it’s making the twitterverse, that’s for sure.
I think it is near 50-50 in donetsk, unlike crimea.
Tweet from Rosa Kazan, CCTV America:
“Donetsk region military commander in TV interview: no foreign mercenaries, only Ukraine troops protecting Donetsk International Airport”
“No, I mean like Russian scum floating in and around Ukraine. Maidan was a National Revolution, the terrorist actions by Russian tourists and various degenerates is just that - terrorism.”
You’re one of the few here at FR who can see the truth!
Blood will flow.
I’m sure team 0ba-mao is secretly cheerleading for Putin.
“Seems the dissenters don’t like dissent.”
What kind of dissent? Oleg Tsarev is so pro-Russian that he was forced to drop out of the presidential race?
If that’s “dissent”, then the dissenters need to be executed or imprisoned.
With any luck, Putin will back off before the bodies start piling up.
>It needs swift and decisive annihilation.
Like what happened in Kiev for weeks? Maybe they need more time to collect tires to burn like they did in Kiev.
So, anyone who disagrees with the unelected regime should be executed or imprisoned?????
>There is no reasoning with the psychotic genocidal mass-murderer KGB Putin.
I think McCain has hacked into FR.
I don’t think he’ll start it. I do think he’ll end it.
Video from the last hour at the Donetsk City Hall, by the UK Blogger.
“So, anyone who disagrees with the unelected regime should be executed or imprisoned?????”
Anyone who would sell out his country to the Russians, yes.
King George III, is that you?
So, anyone who disagrees with the unelected regime should be executed or imprisoned?????
“Anyone who would sell out his country to the Russians, yes.”
And that is why this is going to end in a bloody civil war, folks...
Fomenting armed revolution in a foreign country is the very definition of starting "it". How he finishes it depends on the Ukrainians. If they think they are a separate people *and* are willing to fight to preserve their sovereignty, Russian losses will be such that one of Putin's rivals will finish him and the war in Ukraine.
“And that is why this is going to end in a bloody civil war, folks...”
No, a bloody “civil war” will happen because the Russians corrupted the Ukrainian government - leading to its removal by the people; an act which was ratified by the Ukrainian parliament - and the Russians are now actively trying to divide the country into pieces to annex some of them.
Bloody civil wars are always horrible but sometimes necessary if the right side wins in the end.
You do know that he was beaten by Neo-Nazi’s?
Supposed to be Svoboda. The ones that McCain hung around - as in their leader, Oleh?
We need to stay out of this.
This beat-down fight was (according to what I’ve read) Ukrainain commies vs Neo-Nazi’s. Ergo, again, good reason why we should stay out of this semi-regional conflict.
We are $17 trillion in debt, we are BROKE, and most Americans are war-weary.
“If they think they are a separate people *and* are willing to fight”
And therein lies the rub, eh?
Other than the violent Right-Sector mobs, Ukrainians in the effected areas haven’t shown any willingness to stand up for their own nation, despite orders and screams from Kiev to do so.
LOTS of factors are at work here.
“We need to stay out of this.”
Define “right side”....
“King George III, is that you?”
King George violated the rights of those living in America. The pro-Russian forces in Ukraine violated the rights of Ukrainians in their own homeland. The Ukrainian people have every right to overthrow a pro-Russian corrupt government, replace it with one more acceptable, and then assert their national authority in every corner of their own country. It’s THEIR country.
“Fomenting armed revolution in a foreign country is the very definition of starting “it”.”
Kinda like what the US State Department did in Kiev?
“Define right side....”
The Ukrainians are the right side in a “civil war” with Russians and pro-Russians in Ukraine. Clear enough?
“and then assert their national authority in every corner of their own country.”
That is a BIG part of the problem. The new powers in Kiev aren’t able to influence events much outside of the capital,it seems.
And those UKRAINIANS who don’t agree with the new regime are being beaten in the streets.
Using your own logic, if the UKRAINIANS outside of Kiev decide that the coup government is illegitimate, don’t they also have the right to throw them out, or cast off their chains?
And we are $17 trillion in debt, we are broke, war-weary, and we may get sucked into a situation involving a smei-regional spat with Ukrainian Communists vs Ukranian Nazis.
Didn’t we come close to getting sucked into siding with very bad Syrian elements vs Assad?
Putin is a thug and a monster, no doubt. In the end, like I told someone else, this will probably end with Crimea & Ukraine split down the middle, E. Ukraine going to Russia, Moldava joining with Russia, an that’s the end of it.
Any more than that from Putin and Russia will be wiped out economically with economic isolation, banking isolation, all remaining assets frozen - and then the oligarchs inside and outside of Russia would yank Putin from running Russia.
