Liberals got their panties in a wad over Bush paintings. They can’t look at anything across the aisle without getting their knickers all tied up.
sort of like this guy's writing?
W seems to focus on painting Lizard People. Maybe he’s trying to send us a message.
Articles like this make it clear it is mental illness not politics.
The lib liked them because they’re not half bad. And he hated himself for liking them.
Why hasn’t this Saltz dweeb been guillotined yet?
Oh yeah, not worth the effort.
I think the author needs to get laid.
I could be wrong — but I think maybe, just possibly, this Saltz guy doesn’t like President Bush.
Has Obama’s art progressed beyond crayons?
What amazes me is the sheer volume of this stuff. GWB is really cranking them out.
OK, he isn’t exactly Rembrandt, but still.
Its a very interesting way of, essentially, writing a memoir of his time in office and his understanding of the world. Its clear that GWB “gets” people, under the skin, as complicated and ambiguous characters. He is unable to express this in words, yet, as that sort of thing would be inconveniently controversial. Its too soon. But he can draw a picture.
I have hopes that someday we may get one of the finest (most frank) presidential memoirs.
As for this little dweeb of an art critic, its all about tribal rituals of hate. Anybody but the people he knows are caricatures, against whom he can only apply fixed formulas. As a person he is himself far more two-dimensional than Bush.
You don’t want to see Bush’s nudes of Vladimir Putin.
GWB is fascinating to me. Try as I may, I can’t get a handle on him. Who will write the history of these times?
That would be great. No sense of humor those Russkies.
You’re right about that. How did you know?
Maybe Condoleeza. She has the material and knows where the bodies are buried. On the other hand, she never struck me as the sort of writer that could do the story justice. Lots of information, maybe, but not a lot of art.

Has anyone seen the art produced by Jerry Saltz?
