Mozilla question
vanity

Posted on 04/05/2014 6:51:15 PM PDT by airedale

I was wondering which software companies and developers were pushing for the CEO' s scalp. I know Rarebit is one, but I do not use dating websites. I have already deleted Firefox and Thuderbird, but I want to get rid of any software from the petty tyrants that are on a jihad to enforce there point of view. If we do not stop this in the bud what's next? If you agree pro-life, a small government supporter, conservative or libertarian, support Israel, etc do you lose your job or have to wear some other scarlet letter? Some both here and in Britain have called for those who do not support climate change to be fired and jailed.

After uninstalling Firefox and Chrome (an unnamed individual whom resides in our household installed Chrome after the Firefox debacle), and I installed Pale Moon, I discovered that I can no longer log onto Facebook.

Got any ideas as to why this happened?

Here is a statement from PaleMoon:

“Pale Moon (and Moonchild Productions) is in no way associated or affiliated with the Mozilla Corporation or Mozilla Foundation. Pale Moon nor the developer have any ties with Mozilla, financially or otherwise. Mozilla does not benefit from people using Pale Moon.”

“On a more personal note: I do not agree with Mozilla’s management decisions, recent design decisions or the rather upsetting CEO resignation and controversy around it. Even though I personally don’t agree with the ex-CEO’s views, and understand the resistance against it and dissociation people might feel to a company with someone in a leading position actively opposing gay rights, Mozilla’s response of making him immediately resign was a display of severe lack of tolerance for different views.
I believe in freedom, respect, tolerance and choice. I will always attempt to make Pale Moon and the driving forces behind it reflect that, and will not judge anyone on their personal beliefs, so long as they respect my own.”

Hmm. That didn’t happen to my Wife or myself. I was still logged onto FR, IMDB, Facebook, and all of my other sites. Weird.

Try logging out of FB, checking your email for any FB messages concerning your account, then logging back on.

Hmmm. You didn’t get an email from Facebook?
Sometimes I get an email from them if I have issues getting on from my iPhone that say, “Trouble logging on to your Facebook account?”

Make sure your antivirus works with it to protect against malicious webpages.

Look up who funds Monzilla. Google is one of the major supporters of this “nonprofit.”

THAT'S the issue. It's not whether a browser company is pro-gay marriage. It would be very hard to find one that is NOT.

It's the INTOLERANCE and high-tech lynching of people who don't toe the liberal line that is the real issue.

Plus the fact that Eich apologized.

No not good enough for the mob.

He must be ruined forever.

I used to think George Takei was amusing, but he's a big fascist.

My wife likes Modern Family, and I can put up with the silly antics of Cam and Mitch.

But I was so pissed off that this weeks show was ruined for me.

Not funny anymore.

People have the freedom within the framework of the Constitution as well as laws to do what ever they please in this country. Well, this used to be the case.

Individuals are being singled out simply because they hold to a differing view, and these individuals are being forced to resign from their jobs because a group of people didn’t like the way in which they voted, or donated to a cause.

We have the right and liberty to vote with our pocketbooks, and protest by expressing our views and choosing to take our business elsewhere.

Individuals who state such idiotic comments such as, “protests don’t work”, miss the point. It’s not whether or not “it works”. It’s our actions in and of itself that matters. If our decisions should result in a greater understanding, and change of ideas for the good, that’s perfect. If it doesn’t, that’s wasn’t the most important goal in the first place.

My wife likes Modern Family,..

My wife also. I could watch it minus the gay couple but I'm not going to sit through the show simmering.
As the shows go gay I vote with the remote.

I have installed Opera. The Home page features something called “Speed Dial” which I guess is a little like the drop-down search engines of Firefox. However, I am having trouble figuring out bookmarks in Opera. I want to import my Chrome bookmarks (which were imported from Firefox). I don’t even see “Bookmarks” anywhere on the browser. Is “Stash” the Opera version of bookmarks? If not, is there a way to add bookmarks to the toolbar? I’ve tried googling this with no success.

Click the Opera Icon. Choose settings then browser. Down that page is a place to check Toolbar. Then you go to the browser and there is a plus sign to add sites.

I’m using an older version of Opera (12.12) I’ve used it occationally for many years. Click on the Opera button (upper left corner) book marks should be there somewhere. To import bookmarks click the same button then go to settings->import and export. You will have to export bookmarks from Firefox before you can import them into Opera. Hope that helps

It won’t load the Facebook log on page.

Had same issue at first but was able to log on successfully. Don't remember what I did - I think after refreshing page perhaps?

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I never thought to click on the logo. The version of Opera I am using seems to only allow for the Bookmarks toolbar, which I have added. From googling, I gather that the Bookmarks folder was removed, but is coming back in the next version of Opera.

Since deleting Firefox and trying both Chrome and Opera, I am finding that both are much faster. I suspect my Firefox installation may have been corrupted through the years due to various toolbar Search trojans, etc that were installed/deleted.

I used to think George Takei was amusing, but he's a big fascist.

My thought exactly. I just walk away from such people, quietly -- like how I quietly(*) walked away from Firefox last week.

*-- other than a few posts like this one not using my RL name. I say "quietly" in the sense of "without making a big online show about it," in contrast to the mau-mauing of Eich.
