Climate Change Takes Its Toll on Baby Deer in France
NBC News ^ | April 2, 2014 | BY JAMES ENG

Will a warming world eventually kill off roe deer in France?

That question is being raised in light of new research indicating that the animals are having a hard time adapting to climate change.

In a study published Tuesday in the open-access journal PLOS Biology, researchers tracked the births and subsequent survival of roe deer fawns in France's Champagne region.

They noted that spring vegetation on which the adult deer depend for food was starting to flourish two weeks earlier that it did nearly three decades ago, due to gradual warming. But although spring was arriving earlier, the animals' birth season stayed the same, failing to keep pace with the changing temperatures.

The U.S. government banned lightbulbs for the global warming hoax. and the news media hid it from the public. after the end of this year it will be very hard to find light bulbs to buy

global warming is a hoax to advance socialism

i can’t believe the US government has banned lightbulbs for a a hoax called global warming. it is so shocking this could happen in America a free country. And the media hid it from the public that the government banned lightbulbs. the media is the problem the enemy. i hate the government . they are pure evil . i hate democrats. instead of the news media showing what the government is doing (like banning lightbulbs and Obama’s IRS oppressing conservatives)they show us Trayvon martin, adam lanza, global warming hoax, olympics, sports, and a missing plane.

we no longer live in a free country . the democrats control the media and what everyone thinks and talks about

They are welcome to all the deer they want from here.
They are a huge nuisance.

” But although spring was arriving earlier, the animals’ birth season stayed the same, failing to keep pace with the changing temperatures.”

Why not, given spring’s variance from year to year? That sounds like either a design flaw....or normal and not meaningful.

Is it possible to challenge the basic premises of the global warming extremists?

I would want to know—is global warming really only a bad event???

We obviously went through a period of natural global warming since the end of the last ice age. Chicago was buried under a mile of ice during the last ice age. Isn’t Chicago better off not being buried under a mile of ice???

We know the ice age ended due to natural cycles, because Cro Magnon man did not have coal fired power plants.

Aren’t there some potential benefits to warming though? For example, the midwest is a very productive agricultural region, but that area also has severe winters and a relatively short growing season. Wouldn’t there be some great benefits from a warmer midwest?

Just wondering why global warming is necessarily, by definition, a negativeevent per the liberals.

How do these unusual creatures normally handle the transition from winter to summer?

Even if you accept every single lie of the Global Warming Propagandists, this very sentence simply makes no sense.

So the vegetation is around two weeks earlier, that means MORE vegetation when the roe are born.

And somehow they cannot eat SUMMER vegetation, only SPRING vegetation.

What a crock of horse s***.

Driving, one nice Friday morning, with the chapel staff and friends, through France to go visit a sacred spot, we het a deer on the Autobahn 100 Km our site of Paris.

The driver was an experienced combat fighter pilot, so the damage was minimized and the reaction, impressive.

A huge nuisance and a fright for those who value ours, and our kids’ lives.

PS the fighter pilot later came down with a nasty case of Lyme disease, deer revenge?

I don’t get it either. They mate in the fall and baby deer are born about 10 months later. As long as the adults have enough food to eat throughout the year it should not make much difference, since babies suckle from the mother anyway.

The insanity of the garbage being spewed by these “climate change” nuts is astounding...

They started this trash decades ago - saying that the use of fossil fuels and the resultant pollutants was bringing an ice age that would devastate the earth... and time (and nature) proved them absolutely wrong.

Then they swapped sides - and claimed that these same activities and substances used by man were causing global warming (all “backed” by cooked numbers and even full-blown lies)... and again, the planet proved them to be the liars they are. So they changed their campaign from “Global Warming”, then to “Manmade Global Warming”, then when the planet has proven that there is no statistically-important warming (and in some areas - cooling), they again juggled and called it “Manmade Climate Change”.

Here we are in the US - where many areas have experienced record book cold, record snowfall (with at least another month of possible snow).

HEY!!! How about a clue from history and nature.... There have been periods of MUCH GREATER temperature swings in recorded history than what is being experienced now. Somehow critters survived. Mankind survived... and all of those much more dramatic temperature changes (colder and warmer) were long before mankind had the capacity to produce any significant “greenhouse gasses”. Long before mankind could even begin to THINK he could impact the climate.

The Earth’s climate has always been in cycles of warming and cooling - sometimes rather dramatically. The “Dark Ages” - with mankind’s general stagnant intellectual development and widespread poverty... all during primarily a period of cooling. The Renaissance? Was during a period of climate warming (much more dramatic than today’s claimed warming/change).

But facts mean absolutely ZERO to those who will grasp at any issue or cause to grab as much power as possible. It is the “progressive” way.

Greenies believe in evolution but they refuse to accept natural selection, even though it's the cornerstone of the evolution process.

George Orwell was highly prescient, in “1984”. Actually what he was writing about was mostly extrapolation from the world at it existed in 1948, and drew heavily upon the experience with socialistic governments that had been a feature of most northern European countries, where its principles had been applied off and on long before Karl Marx wrote down the postulates in his dreary tome, “Das Kapital”.

Some of this may date back to the days of Rome, but its first really historic application was in the days of the Paris Commune, after the overthrow of the French monarchy.

The right person to administer the perfect socialistic state has never come along, so the system has never worked as it was intended.

No system of government has ever worked perfectly. Nor should any type of government ever be given the opportunity to operate perfectly.

Imperfect government has always been the salvation of mankind, as the opportunity to revolt against tyranny or sloth carries a strong disciplinary force.
