Boy Scouts Dismiss a Gay Troop Leader in Seattle
NY Times ^ | APRIL 1, 2014 | ERIK ECKHOLM

Nearly a year after announcing that it would admit gay boys but still prohibit openly gay leaders from its ranks, the Boy Scouts of America has dismissed a gay scoutmaster.

The fired leader, Geoffrey McGrath, 49, is an Eagle Scout and software engineer in Seattle who is married to his longtime companion. He helped form a troop last fall, he said, because he loves scouting and because the low-income and immigrant children in his area of south Seattle had few after-school activities.

The troop is sponsored by the Rainier Beach United Methodist Church, one of hundreds of “reconciling congregations” in the national Methodist Church that performs same-sex marriages and promotes equality for gays and lesbians.

Mr. McGrath and the church pastor, the Rev. Monica Corsaro, said in telephone interviews on Tuesday that they had never misled local Boy Scout officials about their plans. The pastor said Mr. McGrath had offered to help in a less formal role, in part because he had received attention last year for leading a protesting Boy Scout contingent in Seattle’s gay pride parade. But she insisted that he serve as scoutmaster.

They’re not going to stop until they have destroyed everything that was good and decent in this country. And the NYTimes will cheer them on every step of the way.

That’s really what the homosexual movement is all about. It’s about hollowing out traditional, long-standing organizations and institutions and watching them smolder in ruins, and then the homosexuals move on to the next organization. The BSA is just a shadow of its former self, and now it’s starting to happen with professional and collegiate sports.

“We don’t believe the topic of sexual orientation has a role in scouting, and it is not discussed unless it is deliberately injected into scouting,” the statement said.

THAT should have been worded differently.

“There was a scout leader in our town years ago. He was married but was ‘diddling’ boys in the troop. I heard through the grapevine that the “situation was handled”......I.e. A group of fellars beat the ever-lovin’ crap out of him.”

A junior high teacher in my home town was also a self-aggrandizing scout leader who was widely admired for his “interest in the development of the young people” and his claim that he was giving the boys special “leadership training.” Many of the parents were thrilled that this guy spent outside time with their children and was a special mentor to them.
Eventually the fact that he’d been sexually abusing the students was about to come out in public. How did the scout leader handle that? He took a shotgun and shot himself, his wife and his three school age children, all found dead in their home.

This is a question that I have asked BSA National...

Why is it permissible for a 17 yrs, 364 days old (youth) homosexual to be in a tent with a 10.5 year old Scout, yet it’s not acceptable for an 18 yrs, 1 day old (adult) heterosexual to share a tent with a 17 yrs, 364 days old Scout?

This is a question based on the Youth Protection guidelines the BSA has in place.

The reply from National, Regional, Council and District has been crickets.

There was never a hint of homosexual behavior.

My only experience with homosexual behavior in the BSA has come from serving in Council positions, or on regional or national committees. I have never personally witnessed it in the BSA. I've seen it on paper. However, I have seen 'hints' of homosexual behavior through international Scouting.

so what are the use of see thru panties if you have crystal balls

When the BSA permits homosexual Scout leaders, which it will, that doesn't mean that my unit must accept homosexual Scout leaders. Decisions such as those are left to the chartered organization, unless in violation of federal, state, or local law. That may change in BSA policy, and that would cause my unit to leave the BSA, based on past and current chartered organization and Troop Committee leadership.

Trail Life USA doesn't work for my unit.

Shooting himself was appropriate. To do that to his wife and kids was pure evil.

Robert Gates is the Father of Sodomization in the US Armed Forces. I predict by June of this year the ban on sodomite Boy Scout leaders will be lifted. IMHO that’s the only reason the incompetent Gates was hired.

The military was the biggest victory for the sodomites. The BSA takeover will be a piece of cake. Sad thing about the queers taking over the Boy Scouts is it would have happened with the father of homo marriage in the United States, Mitt Romney, if he had been elected president. Spanky Christie is also a fan of all things homo, and of course RINO JEB Bush.

I talked to my brother about this. And he agrees with you. He has had tons of fun with his two sons Scouting in the Memphis area.

One of the things I enjoyed when I was in it in my younger years was the local jamboree. In conjunction with local hunters and trappers the fare included animals most people wouldn’t or don’t consider a food source. Porcupine, muskrat, beaver, marmot, etc. But also bear and buffalo. Along with more ‘normal’ items like pheasant, any grouse (or partridge), antelope, venison, elk. And fish. I have a GREAT recipe for carp if you are interested.

He should have shot himself before molesting or killing anyone else.
