Nearly a year after announcing that it would admit gay boys but still prohibit openly gay leaders from its ranks, the Boy Scouts of America has dismissed a gay scoutmaster.
The fired leader, Geoffrey McGrath, 49, is an Eagle Scout and software engineer in Seattle who is married to his longtime companion. He helped form a troop last fall, he said, because he loves scouting and because the low-income and immigrant children in his area of south Seattle had few after-school activities.
The troop is sponsored by the Rainier Beach United Methodist Church, one of hundreds of “reconciling congregations” in the national Methodist Church that performs same-sex marriages and promotes equality for gays and lesbians.
Mr. McGrath and the church pastor, the Rev. Monica Corsaro, said in telephone interviews on Tuesday that they had never misled local Boy Scout officials about their plans. The pastor said Mr. McGrath had offered to help in a less formal role, in part because he had received attention last year for leading a protesting Boy Scout contingent in Seattle’s gay pride parade. But she insisted that he serve as scoutmaster.

Here is the 2012 Republican Party’s presidential nominee reaffirming his 20 year campaign for gay scout leaders.
“A campaign assistant for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney confirmed that the former Massachusetts governor’s opposition to the Boy Scouts’ ban on homosexual leaders, which he publicly expressed in 1994, still stands. According to the Deseret News , Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul told the Associated Press that Romney is still holding to the political stand he adopted nearly 20 years ago when he said during an unsuccessful run for Ted Kennedy’s U.S. Senate that while he supported “the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue,” he also felt that “all people should be able to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation.””
Ugh! The progs always use the excuse that the founder of the Boy Scouts was gay....so that makes it OK.
There was a scout leader in our town years ago. He was married but was ‘diddling’ boys in the troop. I heard through the grapevine that the “situation was handled”......I.e. A group of fellars beat the ever-lovin’ crap out of him.

When former SoD Robert Gates assumes the title of volunteer president of the BSA National Council in late May 2014, the final countdown towards acceptance of open homosexual adult leaders will commence. Typically the president’s tenure is 2 years. Sadly it will happen.

Rev. MONICA Corsaro....that’s part of the problem. When the Baptists start allowing women preachers and the Catholics start allowing women priests, it’s all over.
So, let me get this straight. It’s okay for a gay kid to share a tent with a straight kid. But it’s not okay for the scout master to be gay. BSA will cease to exist before too long. And as I’ve said before, lots of kids will grow up hating their parents when they find out they knew the scout master who molested them was gay. And they will be allowed in eventually.
