I’m sure law enforcement agencies across the U.S. could put them to use (not that I support that).

Swords to plowshares. This stuff should be returned to tax paying farmers or something.

Maybe those “dirt poor” opium poppy farmers could use some of that heavy equipment.

Local police all over the nation are buying MRAPs cheap (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles.

Not.....a......good.....thing. At all. DHS also has them.

Military vehicles are frequently sold to local county highway departments to be used for highway and road maintenance. Our county recently purchased a number of the specialized vehicles which have since been converted for such purposes. While the fuel consumptions of the used military vehicles are much higher than the standard “commercial” type trucks, the military vehicle cost (to the counties and being much less than a new truck) makes them very desirable for purchase versus buying a “new” truck. I’d say give/sell them to the counties for their use and purposes, thus saving tack payers billions of dollars. Indeed it would hurt “new” truck sales over time but in the long run may prove to be a better deal.

I'm not altogether sure how armored personnel carriers (MRAPS) can be used for highway maintenance. Perhaps you could explain how the vehicle shown in post #6 could be used for that purpose.

We could use pothole resistant vehicles in Minnesota right now.

We could use a few pothole resistant vehicles here too. Atlanta city government's primary role is to provide as many jobs/transfer payments as possible for otherwise unemployable blacks so as to keep them voting for the black democrats who run for office. With this primary goal, there isn't a whole lot of money left over for actual services.

“If Karzai wants them, let him buy them at top dollar…”

Buy? The Caped Marvel has outright stolen or otherwise scarfed a fortune in US assets. His drug money? My conclusion is that the civilian side of ISAF governments are directly/indirectly complicit in Afghan heroin trafficking into their countries. Mexican heroin aside, how else how to account for US presence in Afghanistan running some parallel to increased domestic use of heroin?
Forget democracy, it rots my socks that our military may have been obligated to “Making Poppy Fields Safe for Dealers”.

Afghans can go play buzkashi using Karzai’s pie hat. Whether he’s still attached to it is up to them.

Simply put, India is very much less than appreciated by the US. US and India may have a way to go before declaring “friendship” in any genuine sense, but well worth mutual efforts. Check out a map of the region.

They could have cut it up for culvert piping and sold it to county highway departments. (grin)

Dismantling the USA Military is part of "TRANSFORMATION" that our national clown ran on, so I would conclude the majority of America (53% in 2012) supports this action.

Sell them to the Texas State Guard and other State Guards in the South.

Unlike the National Guard, it doesn’t answer to the feds.

we have seen this administration is all about corrupting numbers and claiming victory from those corrupt figures . I do not believe the U.S. was ever delivered the correct vote numbers in either election . This is an administration of lies , vote fraud , national deception

If possible ? some of these military vehicles might be able to converted over to run on bio diesel or natural gas, could help the local farmers with soy beans, or some other type of plant that could be processed into bio diesel like sunflower seeds.
Another form of fuel is gasification of wood, wood by products, agriculture wastes, and so on and so on.

The back panels cover over the built in donut and coffee cafe for the " 10 standing by work projects state highway workers " and one stop coffee shop for the high way police.

Wait until they find out what a tune-up, engine rebuild or new tranny costs. Those things will become local park monuments, next to the WWII howitzers.

Don’t sell them to Karzai for any price. Blow them up in place if necessary, but if Karzai gets them they *will* be used against us some day.

National Guard kazernes -- that's where they belong. Right here at home. We paid for them, we own them.
