My child's home school assignment today is...

"What are the five best ways to dispatch communists?"

I’m starting to think that this whole thing is bogus. I can’t imagine that Common Core would ask a question that would require actual thought and demand a coherent response.

A more realistic question would be:

How do you feel about a Constitution that denies Americans the right to free health care?

Some people consider dogs “family,” as well.

My grandson had the assignment in fifth grade in Keller, Texas. Boy did I give him a civics lesson. I told him that there wasn’t a problem with the Bill of Rights, just the way Liberal judges have been gutting and rewriting them to fit their agenda. I bet the teacher was surprised when he handed in his paper

If they were choosing to nix the 16th and 17th, I would have hope for America. Might be a good time to launch an educational campaign with that very goal in mind.

I guess I’d give up my right to an abortion and my right to free medical care. They’re in there, right? I was told they were; look behind a penumbra, I’m sure they’re there.

Unlike these kids, you had probably read The Declaration of Independence, The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, and The Constitution. Probably the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers too. Makes a difference when your decisions are based on a strong background.

Common core no more.

Instead of reading, writing, arithmetic, and science, we have....

Reading that is boring and tedious, including federal manuals,

Writing in print, so that the curious can’t read The Founders or other original manuscripts,

Math that is nearly pure artifice, and

Science that is based on extremist junk. Not science, but the ‘art of science.’

Common core is uncommon lore. So, common core no more, and save the art for artists, the science for researchers, the language for those who love it, and the math for engineers and...musicians. Or retail shoppers!

Not to worry. Just the dhimmicraps polling future voters for platform planks for the 2024 election season.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

The assignment isn’t that clear, because the students are supposed to both take away two amendments and add two amendments to the Bill of Rights.

You’re right, of course, that the Bill of Rights is the first 10 amendments, but it hardly makes sense to add two amendments to the Bill of Rights. Does that mean propose two new amendments to the constitution, or literally select two existing amendments to be considered part of the “Bill of Rights?” Dumb.

In any event, it’s not a terrible exericse. Among the first 10 amendments, 3 and 7 strike me as the two that could go with the least amount of damage, and it would be an interesting discussion to propose two additional constitutional amendments.

There is a reason that the RINOs support common core.

You have to add the Health Care amendment and the dignified meaningful employment amendment.

My son is 3 and a half yrs old. I mean to teach him critical thinking and I’ll convey to him that I expect him to stand and deliver WHENEVER he thinks Truth is being played with. Now, what in the hell kind of constant strife and battle am I starting up for this poor kid. It’s one thing for ME to go around getting tough with everybody but how much can one expect of a kid who is constantly at odds with his world? Young Winston Churchill was a natural at it even in grade school but look at what an extraordinary personality he was.

How do we know that this is really an assignment from the 6th grade history class in Bryant, Arkansas? I have serious doubts.
