The hard truth is that you are worth precisely what an employer will pay for you, and nothing more.

My boss told me that on day two on my first job at age 16 with a nonprofit that paid less than minimum wage. And it has held me in good stead ever since.

One could only wish that liberalism would be crushed by its own dead weight. But the fact is, that like a growth of black mold or “red tide” algae, its expression keeps cropping up again and again, plaguing the less radical and more reserved among us, displaying behavior that may only be compared to that of a naughty child.

One of the things that the “Common Core” curriculum is supposed to address is “critical thinking”, but in fact, it is exactly for SUPPRESSION of critical thinking that the agenda is being introduced. Nonsense methods of teaching arithmetic, a scrubbed set of facts to be taught as “history”, and substitution of flexible thumbs for the rigors of practicing and comprehending the art of cursive writing may prepare an automaton for service in a highly regulated society, but humanity is not a beehive.

The greatest mischief that may be played upon a young child is to prepare that child for conformity in the modern world.

Hard hitting and it will be totally ignored by the Libs and their followers.

And that’s a pity, Until it actually crashes around ALL of our ears their is still a chance, slim though it may be, of stopping it from happening and reversing course.

Quote

“Your biggest problem is you. Now, a lot of people resent this truth – they say it’s “blaming the victim.” But most of the time, the purported “victim” is to blame. Did you drop out of school? Choose to use drugs? Have a couple kids with a couple losers? See, if so, you aren’t a victim of circumstance. A victim of circumstance is someone struck by lightning or attacked by a gang of thugs in a Democrat-run city. You’re a recipient of consequences.

It’s not a tragedy when bad things happen to people who make bad choices. It’s a tragedy when we lie to them by validating their failures and then try to ameliorate those consequences by taking money from people who did all the right things.”

BINGO!

Every time I think of this issue I think of the story of the grasshopper and the ant. And tack on a new ending where the government shows up and takes half the ants food and gives it to the grasshopper.

The sheeperals to which he refers will NOT listen to these hard truths

because they have their own “salvation model” wrapped up in their advocacy of “caring for others, caring for the erf”.

Would you give up YOUR faith in your salvation?
Neither will they.

Great find! Thanks for posting it!

I doubt I'll read anything better this week or even this month than this excellent, common sense filled work by Kurt Schlichter.

I wanted to quote a few stand out lines, but gave up when I realized I end up re-posting it entirely. It's that good.

> Here’s Hard Truth Number 3: If you need government to set you a “living wage,” it’s because you have failed to make yourself worth a living wage. A higher minimum wage is merely a subsidy to ensure you don’t have to put in the effort necessary to earn what you want. I’m unclear why your failure to work hard, gain skills and not do the stupid things that lead a 30 year old to be making minimum wage morally compels me to give you my money.

***

That brings us to Hard Truth Number 5: Liberalism depends on a huge number of Americans being losers who can’t support themselves. Broken or nonexistent families are the root of most of society’s pathologies, and they are also essential to the Democrat demographic model. The party’s very existence depends on there being a pool of serfs desperate for handouts distributed by Democrat overlords. If 90% of Americans were self-sufficient and refused to trade their dignity for a few scraps in the form of various welfare payouts, there would be no modern Democrat Party.

^ TRUTH. Good suff...: )

There are a number of good quotes from the article, but I especially like
It’s not a tragedy when bad things happen to people who make bad choices. It’s a tragedy when we lie to them by validating their failures and then try to ameliorate those consequences by taking money from people who did all the right things.
although
You shouldn’t have kids if you can’t afford them. A corollary to this self-evident concept is that you shouldn’t have sex unless you can pay for your own birth control. Those of us who don’t choose to live lives of chaos should not have to be taxed money from our kids so the government can give it to your kids because you are too lazy, stupid and/or drug-addled to support them yourself.
is also priceless.

Here’s another corollary:

If you stop subsidizing bastardity,
women will be more choosy about their sex partners
and potential fathers for their children.

Most of the liberals I know are wealthy....Some very wealthy.

Mostly inheritance .

Most of the conservatives I know are Poor....some very poor.

Mostly child support,DUI or anger management.

The people who are doing the real work...the honest work...these days are being crapped on by both sides equally.

Liberalism will collapse of its own dead weight. And when it does, you true believers better be ready for the hard truth that there is no such thing as a free lunch.

And it will be ugly and bloody.

If blacks living on the South Side of Chicago ever wonder why things don't get better - after all their years of voting for democrats they can read the above...
