“Never mind all of the corruption in the citys government. nah, let focus on choo-choos in this class, kids!”
The real problem was Coleman Young and the crooked Blacks that followed his twenty year experiment in Communism and Unionism. It was a chocolate problem not a choo-choo problem.
Detroit had a comprehensive rail-based public transit system too - the Michigan Central Station that once was the thriving epicenter connecting Detroit with the whole Midwest, now an icon of decay and failure of liberal politics ...
Teach that in your "Detroit: Metropolis in Transition," course.
They still have the “People Mover” there, right?

Ssssssh! We have to find a way to blame capitalism!
“its persistence as the largest metro are in the United States without a comprehensive, rail-based public transit system.”
As if that’s the cause...How about pay to city workers that it is way too high with pension benefits that will never be able to be paid. When the union thugocracy runs the place why would you expect anything else....think California, New York, Illinois, etc
The main entrance ...
The main waiting room ...
What a massive job of restoration Maroun's Freshwater Railway has on its hands.
Maroun has no intent to do anything but let it crumble.
Typical Maroun, always telling us what he’s gonna do. He just never quite gets around to doing it when its so much easier to buy a Detroit politician.
The should rename it “Detroit Bankruptcy in Obamanomics” and offer it nationally online.
It would be a very useful course, however I fear that they are certainly missing the point.
