Mob Attack On Family Caught On Camera

Kentucky police are investigating a string of alleged assaults by a group of teens. One of the teens was caught on camera. 

A woman says they attacked her and her family as her kids watched in horror. 

"This is like something out of a movie. I've never seen something like this before," Viola Loeffler said. 

It was around 8 p.m. Saturday when she and her family were attacked at a Louisville intersection. 

"Right before we got to the stoplight, we noticed about 50 to 100 teens coming to the middle of the street. It was a one-way street so we couldn't go any further. All of a sudden, one of them throws a garbage can on our car," she explained. 

Loeffle says after that, the situation quickly escalated. Her boyfriend, Ron Carter, was in the driver's seat and stopped the car to see what was going on. 

They say when he got out, the teens moved in on him. 

"Then all of a sudden, I'm getting attacked," Carter said.  "At that point,  I jump in the driver's seat and heard them throwing rocks at my car. The rocks were hitting the kids inside the car."

Meanwhile, Loeffler and her five children were still inside the car.

The approximately 200 teens were involved in at least 17 incidents, according to police. There has been at least one arrest and police are looking for more suspects.

Had she run over them, the media would be saying “group of black children” instead of “teen mob”.

Crap like this happens - WITHOUT the law EVER catching up to these thugs...

And black folks have the nerve to ask: “Why ya’ll afraid of black people? It’s cos you racist.”

Drives me up the wall.

I had a similar, not so severe, incident happen to my mother when I was young.
It ain’t racism folks. If you get burned by fire, you’re gonna walk the OTHER way whenever you SEE fire.

I don't understand what's going on in Louisville. It isn't a huge city, and when I was there a few years ago, it seemed that it should be manageable. How can hundreds of black youths, ANYWHERE, go on a rampage and only one be caught?

For starters, I'm gonna' go all racist here, and say that black police chief you mentioned has to go. There's no other way for us law abiding folks to trust driving through that city again.

This is morphing into sheer madness. If I’m correct, we had another similar report yesterday or the day before. And if this escalates across US metro areas, as you suggest, when the weather warms up, these cities are going to begin suffering real economic consequences.

Of course, these reports never make the National Network News or the Cable Network news; they only get reported at the local level. But with the internet, these reports still make it into a broader audience.

We need to be extremely vigilant and monitor the escalation of this phenomenon such that we can actively avoid these areas.

And just wait until the weather warms up some more.

Last night I saw a group of 7 or 8 "teens" being smart-asses in a major thoroughfare through what used to be the "good" part of town. The weather was just warm enough for said "teens" to be out, and as you said, once it really warms up we'll be in for more than the usual quota of typical "teen" behavior.

The local 'rat/church/labor coalition had already imported and sponsored enough "teens" from a neighboring state to tip parts of town into get-out-while-you-can status, and the landlord-enriching, shotgun approach to new Section 8 housing has metastasized the "teen" cancer.
