Obama In Europe Is Oblivious To NATO's New Impotence

Checking out Rembrandts and checking in with European allies, President Obama seems blind to the rubble around him. The U.S. leadership vacuum has left NATO as ravaged as a post-World War II battlefield.

In May 1945, a sizable force of Allied bombers flew photographers over European cities to document the destruction of what was then, and remains, the worst war in history. Their images of urban craters and flattened buildings are permanent reminders of the evils of totalitarianism.

One can't help wondering, if Barack Obama had been on board, whether he would have looked down and remarked on the day's pleasant weather.

Well, the title of the piece could have been: "Fauxbama In Europe, NATO Is Oblivious To Fauxbama's Normal Impotence". (But he loves toying with his putter.)

Oblivious?

Barry Benghazi CAUSED much of NATO’s “new impotence”.

I think perhaps you don’t understand the situation.

The Tyrant does not need his court, his court needs him. A courtier banned from the court, even if it is in Europe, loses self esteem. Loss of self esteem can induce suicide or binge sex.

Our first homosexual president will never “bend over backwards” for any man.

One good thing to come out of this is to force Europe to SH** or get off the pot and spend some money on defence.

” We’re united in imposing a cost on Russia for its actions so far,” the president said”

The doofus must be claiming that today we are more flexible? Is that what he thinks he meant when he whispered in Medvedev’s ear.

He just said (I heard him, I am paraphrasing) that it is good Ukraine gave up its nukes, so that the invasion by Russia went smoothly.

NATO’s incompetence began when the Europeans embraced social democracy and turned their backs on tradition and religion. The destruction caused by embracing abortion and nanny state attitudes, combined with slashing military budgets to pay for that nanny state created an impotent Europe.

Europe has been all too comfortable to continue slashing those military budgets for two reasons: no real threat combined with the U.S. always being there to defend them if a threat DID arise.

Let’s face it: NATO is a paper tiger, and American backing is the only thing giving it any substance. We saw firsthand that NATO wouldn’t fight in Yugoslavia without American bombing capability, couldn’t even maintain a no fly zone in Libya without America, and is afraid to even think of sanctioning Russia even with American backing.

If we were to do anything militarily to Russia, we would have to assume that most of the blood (and treasure) would come from us.
