Ellmers Berates Constituents for Opposing Amnesty: You Don't Have Any Damn Facts!

In a constituent meeting gone awry that was captured on shaky, amateur video, embattled Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) berated a group of local activists who oppose amnesty legislation, suggesting they were racist and saying they didn't have “any damn facts.”

“You're telling me what people have told you? You don't have any damn facts!” Ellmers exploded at one of the activists when he said that employers – who often claim a labor shortage to argue for amnesty – frequently don't post job openings in that region.

“Facts – numbers. Facts – documents,” Ellmers lectured, her voice dripping with disdain. She went on to attribute the activist's views to “resentment...because of a personal issue that you experienced,” later referring to a local company that had laid off workers. “I know where your hatred and vitriol is coming from,” she added.

FACTS????

Here are some facts:

In the late 60’s & the early 70’s, in California, declarations of 20 million illegals in the USA were common, and most of them were considered to be in the southern border states, touching Mexico. NO ONE challenged those estimates.

Obama used the number of 20 million when HE campaigned in 2007. No one challenged that estimate out loud, but I knew it was false, far too low a number.

Now—40 +++++ years later, we have had the following facts:

A porous border that anyone can walk thru.

NO perceptible self-deporting by illegals.

Continuous repeat illegals being caught in the border states.

Trucks full of illegals & ‘safe houses’ of illegals busted all the time.

Even Obama’s illegal Aunt & Uncle cannot be deported for good.

A birth rate among the illegals already here that has been VERY ROBUST ( as PC as I can state it). Los Angeles County hospital has had years of ALL illegal mothers giving birth, no American citizens in the natal department.

Classrooms in the USA are loaded with kids who cannot speak a modicum of English, and this throttles your kids & grandkids as the ‘teaching’ slows to a crawl. Schools are also having to hire ESL teachers—something which didn’t happen 40++ years ago. YOUR family member isn’t getting an education—nothing happens at a pace that we all learned at. A ‘classroom year’ goes by & there isn’t 1/3 of what should have been taught actually being taught. That also led to ‘No Child Left Behind”.

Try asking your local school how many non-English speaking kids they have enrolled. The teachers union argued years ago that those kids should be ‘taught’ with no asking questions.

A complete & deliberate mis-statement of the 14th Amendment by Federal authorities. That amendment was meant to give offspring of slaves citizenship status after the Civil War. It was NEVER meant to create ‘ANCHOR BABIES’ with illegal parent(s).

The IRS admits to paying out BILLIONS of dollars every year for Earned Income Credit payments to people who are here illegally. These ‘workers’ file a tax return, with no deductions for income tax and they are PAID for their Earned Income Credit. I know for a fact that many of those here illegally and actually on a payroll claim 9 dependents, and pay no income taxes. Those 9 dependents are NOT in the USA—they are in Mexico, and other South American countries. Declaring them as dependents is illegal in Payroll laws.

Western Union is making millions in profits with Mexicans & others sending money south EVERY single payday. Think I am making this up? GO TO any WESTERN UNION location on Friday afternoons & Saturday—all day. The lines will astonish you.

Ask your auto insurance agent why the cost of ‘uninsured motorist’ is so much higher than it was 30 years ago. I mean in the percentage of your entire premium. I asked my new agent here in Nevada 9 years ago why such portion of my premium was over 35% of the total. His answer: Illegals driving. They are uninsured and have no licenses. They often flee the scene, if able. Those were his answers.

The FEDS luring more illegals here with promises of Food Stamps—see the billboards on our borders—facing south.

DO THE MATH!!!

I believe the number of illegals here is much closer to 55 million.

Is there a single nationally known politician who will stand up & tell America that giving them amnesty will be a 6 to 1 ratio against American who were born here & already have over 25 million unemployed???

Break the backs of the unions & employment will increase. Bury the idea of ANY kind of minimum wages & you will increase jobs. Prices will go down. Purchasing ill increase.

Let's remember that Ellmers' enemies from her stunning 2010 defeat of the well-entrenched in both State and Federal Democrat politics, Bob Etheridge ("WHO are you?), might be having a hand in stirring the pot among Republicans in the current effort to discredit her.

A fierce opponent of Obamacare, and an advocate for pro-free-enterprise principles, she is a natural target of the 2 or 3 Democrat candidates who are opposing her, but conservative immigration purists might think twice before throwing the baby out with the bath water. Do they really want a former Perdue cabinet member or a well-known name from the music and entertainment industry to win the seat?

Immigration

The immigration issue affects many facets of our nation. It is an economic issue, an education issue, a national security issue and a health care issue. Our economy cannot withstand the strain of so many illegals. Our schools cannot handle the overcrowded classrooms. Our hospitals are taxed beyond the abilities and those who wish to do us harm can easily cross our porous borders.
America must protect and defend its borders. The unwillingness of the federal government to enforce our immigration laws makes it easier for terrorists to cross our borders and cause us harm. It also burdens taxpayers with higher costs in public safety, education, health care and other areas.
I oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants. We must implement a strong employment verification system that allows for companies to check whether or not they are hiring legal workers and those who hire illegal workers should face stiff penalties.

Just a thought: Ellmers should and must be held to account for her stand on the issues by voters in her District.

Helping the Administration to bring another Democrat to Washington to replace her may not be the best solution, however.

If you listen to what she has said in the past, not just to a couple of select sound bites, you will hear that she is not for open borders and amnesty for all. Her positions are basically what other conservative members of the House are. She has said the borders need to be controlled first, then those that are here may APPLY for legal status, some may APPLY for citizenship.

We all need to stop this crap where we destroy each other and leave the door open for the likes of Clay Aiken to waltz through without breaking a sweat. If there is a more conservative candidate let him/her stand up now and take their own punishment; if not, get off it.

We, as a country, only have a short time left until we become another Great Britain. We are being divided and will be conquered unless we figure out a way to take control of this fast approaching socialist assault. This “all or nothing” attitude will destroy us.

jstaff: Your remarks are reasonable and well taken, which is what my post was intended to convey. Each of us who wish to preserve individual liberty by a return to a "People's" control of government, as prescribed by our Constitution, must understand that where we have an incumbent who is solidly opposed to Obamacare and its role in destroying our economy, who is solidly in favor of free enterprise principles--the only principles which can restore prosperity and jobs--and who agrees with conservative principles in general, then we must recognize that all the money and power of Obama and the Democrats will be used to unseat that person. We should not aid and comfort them in their goal by taking up one single point and unseating our own for one of theirs.

This election is the Republicans' to lose and can be lost by buying into internal bickering over a candidate's choice of words on one single issue at one single meeting (no matter how "worthy" the issue is). Can't we imagine how happy her Democrat opponents are to see this division?

If we truly want to hold our own representatives' feet to the fire, we might want to follow the example of the Farmer in the story about Congressman Davy Crockett of Tennessee. We do it by providing educating that representative and our neighbors about liberty and our Constitution.

Perhaps a reading of Crockett's (TN) experience might be a revealing exercise for those who don't see the dangers of turning over our individual responsibilities to those who promise to "help us."

The current Democrat appeal for "fair share" and against "inequality of income" is simply "slavery" by another name. Government "masters" buy votes in exchange for retaining their "master redistributionist" status, while their "voters" yield up freedom for themselves and future generations.
