The European Commission has ordered EU member states to stop holding bilaterals with Russia over the pork trade and has threatened to complain to the World Trade Organization, claiming that a Russian embargo on European pork is unwarranted. EurActiv France reports.
According to informed sources, France, Denmark and the Netherlands established bilateral contact with Russia in an attempt to end the embargo on European pork. The embargo, which began in January over concerns of African swine fever in European wild boar, blocks all European pork on sanitary grounds. [ ]
Brussels called for Europe to speak with one voice, seeing as it is in Russias interest to divide Europe, claimed Fréderic Vincent, spokesperson for the Commissions health and consumers directorate.

Let em stew. Just don’t start with any BS that we have to share our bacon to be “equal” or to help out. The EU wanted to be a superpower...now is their chance.

Don’t ask for that to happen. Another autocratic superpower is just what the world doesn’t need right now.
Now here is something we can do for EU. We just had an article saying pork products are going to get expensive here. Supposedly, traders are concerned about a deadly virus in the U.S. hog population.
I am going to buy bacon tomorrow...$2.00 a pound. I like that price...gonna put some in my freezer...
