Crimea referendum: Wide condemnation after region votes to split from Ukraine
Fox News ^ | 16 Mar 2014

Crimean voters on Sunday overwhelmingly backed a referendum to secede from Ukraine and join Russia, in an election denounced by the United States, Europe and the Ukrainian government as illegal and destabilizing.

Fireworks exploded and Russian flags fluttered above jubilant crowds after the vote, which election officials said stood at 95 percent with more than half of the ballots counted.

The vote, the final results of which were not expected until Monday, offered voters on the strategic Black Sea peninsula the choice of seeking annexation by Russia or remaining in Ukraine with greater autonomy.

Opponents of secession appeared to largely stay away Sunday, denouncing the vote as a cynical power play/land grab by Russia. But turnout was reported to be well above the 50 percent that would make the referendum binding -- and secession was expected to be approved overwhelmingly.

"We want to go back home, and today we are going back home," said Viktoria Chernyshova, a 38-year-old businesswoman. "We needed to save ourselves from those unprincipled clowns who have taken power in Kiev."

There is plenty than can be done and should be done about it. It is time to help the Russian people to remove the criminal element in their government with an internal regime change and put Russia back on the road to a real democratic republic.

Then we can do the same here.

Indeed. it does not help that Soros EU push was in the funding of Politicians in ukraine to fatten his business on the back of murdered Ukrainian protestors.

why are posting thug putin propaganda here ? you are dangerous fool.

How dare you impugn a seasoned veteran like dfwgator. YOU are the fool. Do you want military action, like the perpetual warmonger McCain? Did you support the un-constitutional mob overthrow of the previously elected Ukrainian leader? There's no "good guy" here, doofus.

We need to concentrate on removing the criminal element from our Government first. The Russians can handle their own problems.

Ukraine needed to split. You can’t have two peoples at each other’s throats living under the same roof.

Overseas forums in the not to distant future:

United States needed to split. You can’t have two peoples at each other’s throats living under the same roof.

The Ukraine should be Russian!

The goons that threw out the elected president, who fled to Russia, were financed by obama.

Anything that would destroy the European Union would be a good thing!

In 20 years, after we grant amnesty to all the illegal aliens, California will likely vote to secede from the US and join Mexico. This will be followed by Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

It's a done deal and there's nothing we can do about it.

Correct!

Just one more bite and Vlad will settle back for awhile.

He will very shortly make moves to take the grey area in this map.

After NATO did pretty much the same thing by creating Kosovo I hardly think we have any room to be critical.

Agreed; dfwgator is one of the more astute posters on this forum. I don’t lightly disregard his opinions. He has good reasons for them and should not be flamed.

Obama’s rise to power in the United States was orchestrated by Saudi financing and Soviet-Russian support through the KGB/FSB and his Kenyan cousin’s Communist training by the Communist East German STASI secret police. The Chicago Communists sponsored his standing for election in Illinois, and the illegal vote fraud agaisnt his former Communist Illinois politician and sponsor.

Putin’s move to conquer the former Soviet Socialist Republics in Georgia, Ukraine, and future nations is likely prompted by Putin’s assumption the window of opportunity will close by the November 2014 U.S. midterm elections. If Obama and the Democrats lose control of the U.S. Senate, Obama could be impeached and removed from office at worst, or the Senate could severely impede Obama’s ability to influence U.S. policies until he is no longer POTUS after 2016. The “flexibility” Obama was inadvertently overheard to offer in a meeting with Putin will be lost, so Putin is motivated to throw off the mask and reveal his true intent and ambitions for conquest now.

One question that remains is how the Soros Obsessives and Alex Jones followers decide that their hero George Soros has been involved. I mean, we know that Soros directed the Maidan uprising, that has been established. Now, is he also behind this Crimea referendum or not?

I guess what we did in Kosovo is ok, then.

I agree that Putin is a bully and can be a tyrant but again, we have no room to be critical. What we did to Yugoslavia under Klintoon was far worse - supporting the thug we had previously had on a terrorist list - and now - well now Kosovo is the premier drug running, human slave market in Europe. I doubt that Crimea will become such a blight and such a horror for humanity as Kosovo has become...

So, yawn. I fail to get too worked up about this...everything really is relative.
