The latest issue of Al-Qaeda's Inspire magazine contains an article about using car bombs in U.S. cities as well as abroad during election seasons, both presidential and congressional, as well as on Christmas and New Years Eve.
The cities and areas listed in the piece include Washington, D.C., New York, Northern Virginia, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

In a bunch of small towns across the US, little police departments have learned how to make high profile felony arrests by luring pedophiles over the Internet.
Well, it seems to me that if they were of a mind, with the help of local hunters, they could rig up a terrorist trap much the same way. Set up their trap in some isolated backwater, hard to get to, so it is very unlikely somebody would just stumble into it. Then, when a car bomb full of armed to the teeth terrorists arrive at “their” target, say an empty cabin supposedly hosting a meeting of Benjamin Netanyahu, Salman Rushdie, and George W. Bush; instead they find their future lies at the bottom of a mine shaft.
This way, even a small town could contribute a lot to the War On Terror.

I have wondered about this. I terrorist blew up a couple of big leftist cities the death toll would horrendous but would they have done the US a favor? The problem is that even if say 5 million leftist city were killed they’d still vote democratic in the next 15 presidential elections

Well, I work in Chicago, though I do not live in Chicago, or in Cook County, for that matter. I’d prefer that Chicago not be a target.
That being said, there are a few sections of Chicago that might actually be improved if they were leveled, because they are well on their way to being leveled anyway with decay and rot and abandonment.

If the same thing happened tomorrow, after seeing the response in its totality, I doubt I’d get up off the couch.
