To become a good engineer of business major, a student must first study the all-important subjects of race and ethnicity — at least according to student government leaders at the University of Michigan, who are working to extend the liberal arts college’s race requirements to all colleges of the university.
The Central Student Government, aims to reform the requirement that all students in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts study race and ethnicity before graduation. Moving forward, all students–even those in the Colleges of Engineering and Business — would be forced to take a class with a racial component, if the proposal were approved by faculty.
Sagar Lathia, president of the LSA Student Government, which is separate from CSG, supports the change. He told The Michigan Daily that students studying business and economics had just as much reason to take R&E classes as their peers in LSA.
It would be helpful for economics students to study “poverty, inequality and labor through the scope of race,”. Activists hope that any proposal approved by the administration would assert identity-based themes — such as gender, sexuality, immigration status, religion and race — as a core focus of the curriculum at each of the university’s colleges.
The proposal is support by the Black Student Union, a race-based activist group at UM that recently made news for presenting a list of demands to the university. Administrators immediately caved to group’s most costly demand: a $300,000 renovation of the campus’s multicultural center. BSU activist Shayla Scales said the proposal was all about creating more diversity.
“I truly believe innovation lies in the crevices of diversity,” she said in a statement. “Making sure that we incorporate diversity in all of our thinking and the way that we see the world will only lead to innovation.”

It’s okay...they have already done this to the military — What, just because you are engineer you thought you would be spared the PC crap...hahaha, yeah right. So, get mad, do something about it or shut up and take it and suffer the fools.
If that is all that is needed, then I'd say business and engineering students at U-M should get ready to either take whatever racist classes are about to be shoved down their throats, or transfer to another school.
Crap like this is going to make a lot of parents look outside the US to send their kids to college....Frankly, I’d love for my kids to be able to study in Europe, especially the UK.

Well I think all of the leftist dummies in women’s courses and other liberal fantasy/diversity courses should be forced to study and pass Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Statics and Dynamics, three years of physics in addition to a courses in Probability and Statistics. (And not the easy, blow-off math/science courses that liberal arts students take now.)
I’d settle for B’s in Cal 1, Chem 1, Physics 1 and either Micro 1 or Bio 1.
Along with all required labs.
Why not? My son was one of three Caucasian engineering students at his university. I can see the Chinese and Indians taking this well. /s
It’s this kind of crap that will reduce the value of your degree, as the smart kids go to Purdue or Colorado School of Mines. When the College of Engineering lowers its standards, the ranking goes down.
So far, the Boilermakers aren’t doing this; my son is a ChemE student at Purdue, and he’s avoided this nonsense. Of course, I have no idea what it is that he’s studying. He left me behind several years ago.

A young lady I know is in a computer science program. This girl is absolute genius. She was forced to take a porn class in women’s studies. She fought it hard and was outspoken in class. There is no reason at all students should be force fed this trash.
I think sociology majors should be forced to to take calculus and physics courses.

1. But will they be able to get employment, licenses, certifications in the US without the requisite courses?
2. How can we blame those in Congress who are supposed to be on our side for being weak and not fighting when we are so ready ourselves to retreat, run away, home school, secede, etc.?

Your average engineering student has a order of magnitude IQ advantage over 99% of the so-called “professors” in lib arts.

No one reading this ever sat next to their equal in any class-room, unless it was their identical twin or triplet. And it was not your fault, or his or her fault, who was better at what, and who had a problem with whatever. We need to put a stop to Leftists using the simple realities of nature to advance a demonic agenda.
