The Ideologue vs. the Children

What a small and politically vicious man New York's new mayor is. Bill de Blasio doesn't like charter schools. They are too successful to be tolerated. Last week he announced he will drop the ax on three planned Success Academy schools. (You know Success Academy: It was chronicled in the film "Waiting for Superman." It's one of the charter schools the disadvantaged kids are desperate to get into.) Mr. de Blasio has also cut and redirected the entire allotment for charter facility funding from the city's capital budget. An official associated with a small, independent charter school in the South Bronx told me the decision will siphon money from his school's operations. He summed up his feelings with two words: "It's dispiriting."

Some 70,000 of the city's one million students, most black or Hispanic, attend charter schools, mostly in poorer neighborhoods. Charter schools are privately run but largely publicly financed. Their teachers are not unionized. Their students usually outscore their counterparts at conventional public schools on state tests. Success Academy does particularly well. Last year 82% of its students passed citywide math exams. Citywide the figure was 30%.

You can tell things about a person from who he opposes. Guiliani opposed murderers, rapists, and muggers. DeBlasio opposes charter school students. Enough said.

The White David Dinkins. Or the second coming of Mayor Lineseed. Take your pick.

Makes Rahmbo look relatively moderate by comparison.

Disgusting, and he won in a landslide.

This is what they voted for. If the charter school parents don’t like it, they can wake up and start voting Conservative. Otherwise stop complaining.

To Marxists, preservation of the state takes precedence over advancement of the people.

And that the liberal Gloomberg was unpopular. So the voters elect someone WORSE. That’s what happens when you let ultralibs use the GOP ballot line.

De Blasio cuts charter school funding for blacks and Hispanics in NYC. Obama terminated private school vouchers for blacks in DC. Holder’s “Justice” Department is opposing vouchers for blacks in Louisiana.

The next time the donkey party resurrects the “war on women” meme, the GOP should counter with the Democrat “war on minority children”. But that would require some brains and some guts on the part of the Republicans, since they can be sure they won’t get the services of the MSM that the Democrats automatically receive. But that doesn’t mean they can’t make it stick if they push it collectively and continuously.

The very existence of charter schools is an implicit rebuke to the public schools. It means they are not succeeding, and something new must be tried. That something new won't be perfect—no charter school is, and some are more imperfect than others—but people still line up to get into them. And there's something to the wisdom of crowds. When a school exists for the students, you can tell. When it exists for the unions, you can tell that too.

This sums up Mr. de Blasio’s entire policy towards charter schools.

The public schools exist for the Teacher’s Union. The students exist for soul purpose of providing income to the Teacher’s Union. The Teacher’s Union exist to provide support for Liberal Democrat politicians.

The Teacher’s Unions must be destroyed for the good of the United States.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

“Charter schools are privately run but largely publicly financed.”

Not entirely accurate. New York’s hedge fund managers also contribute to charter schools. As much as liberal pukes hate capitalists, these investors want to see New York schools succeed.

I’ll predict right now that de Blasio will be physically run out of New York City. This commie idiot is piling up I-hate-Blasio chips. He best prepare his exit and a safehouse in either Cuba or North Korea. My sources tell me that the big money folk are already fed up with this arrogant POS, and the people he’s infuriating most are wealthy women.

Their students usually outscore their counterparts at conventional public schools on state tests.

This is unfair and cannot be tolerated. And without union teachers these schools cannot possibly be teaching proper behaviour and economics to the children. They are subversive, besides, and have no place in a People's Republic.

I hope he stays around for almost his full turn then gets kicked out. We need a shining example of liberal rule in NYC. Detroit is insufficient because it is excused by the failure of the automobile industry. The connection of that failure with liberal unions and liberal policies is one step removed from what people can consider when MSM doesn't make that sort of connections.

Everybody hates Bill de Blasio. If you go to Walt Disney World they will tell you, “This is the happiest place on earth! Because we don’t have Bill de Blasio here. We hate him. What kind of man makes up his own name and puts a ‘de’ in it?”

“We need a shining example of liberal rule in NYC.”

We do need such an example.

My sources are hinting that de Blasio’s wife, Cherlane McCray, is dirty, as in stealing public money. de Blasio doesn’t control the investigators in the city’s prosecutors’ offices.

Here’s the latest political poll hot off the liberal press: 39% of New Yorkers approve of Mayor de Blasio’s job performance while 57% give him poor ratings

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/poll-shows-new-yorkers-disapprove-de-blasio-job-performance-article-1.1713618#ixzz2vQ41HDSr

Let’s watch and see what happens.

Cheers, arthurus

Is there any money included in your award? Normally, I think receiving an award is reward enough, but I have four dogs to feed and the little one thinks he needs prime rib.

Sorry, good buddy, there’s no prime rib rewards for your dogs because I eat that; however, I do feed my cats fresh, Grade-A chicken, and whatever is left over is yours.

As always, your obedient servant

Tell the kids to leave NYC. That's their only hope.

Their mommies and daddies wanted a commie for mayor. Crimea River.
