BOSTON (AP) — Lawyers for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev say a remark he made to his sister during a prison visit was meant to be funny and wasn't incriminating, as prosecutors have suggested.
In court documents filed Wednesday, Tsarnaev's lawyers responded to a claim by prosecutors that Tsarnaev made a remark "to his detriment" while his sister was visiting him. The remark was overheard by an FBI agent who was in the room monitoring the visit because of special prison restrictions placed on Tsarnaev.
Neither side has revealed what Tsarnaev said, but are arguing over whether to lift the monitoring restrictions that his lawyers say limit his interactions with people helping his defense team.
His lawyers say the comment was "jocular" or "gently mocking" the purported security concerns that prompted the prison restrictions, known as "special administrative measures." They say he has not made any statements related to the charges against him during visits with his sisters.

I wonder if there is a way anyone could hire someone else, on the inside, to impress this little turd the “real” meaning of “jocular” or “gently mocking” on a “personal” or “intimate” manner???
A few years ago, some of the folks my wife worked with at MCI thought about the same thing when Bernie Ebbers was sent to prison for what he did to a lot of people...
Just something I was entertaining some thoughts about when I saw this...

He is probably safer in prison than we are in our homes. You can bet no expense has been spared to make him comfortable and safe. I’ll wager, that while the average prisoner costs roughly $30,000 per year that he’s many times more expensive.
Hopefully, gallows humor.
Someone should explain I suppose. You see, when a terrorist that is working with other terrorists that affiliate themselves with a network of terrorists is identified and arrested, there is some concern that they may continue to coordinate with their terrorist buddies (and/or family) whilst still in prison. Hence, all communication and interaction with the outside world becomes a national security issue.
This is a no-brainer. In Iran, they would have already removed his tongue and voice box.

The FBI interrogated their Florida buddy in the field for FIVE HOURS, didn’t bring him in, and then executed him “after he lunged at us”.
How do these weird pieces when assembled together MAKE SENSE?
We had an asset that WENT ROGUE —simple. He was trying to infiltrate, and when he flew close to the sun his mind was in a weird place, trying to stay safe by acting as nutty as his kooky brothers in arms, and skywards he flew on and became a Beliver.
And the FBI was worried that their Florida buddy had been witting to their actual role, and was fearful The Bureau would suffer political blowback and so they eliminated him.
And that’s what you do when you fight this type of borderless war —you send men out to infiltrate, and while sometimes it works out, sometimes it does not.
And this time it did not.
Let the jury hear it.
They will decide if it was a joke or not.
