CPAC 2014 kicks off this morning at 9 AM, with comments by Ted Cruz. I didn't see a thread, nor have I been able to find any links to a live stream of the event. If not, why not? If there are, please post the link. Lots of fascinating speakers..link to the list below..

CPAC is currently conducting a panel discussion in which George Will continues to frustrate. Senator Coburn has now twice attempted to bring up an ARTICLE V constitutional amendment process to cure the obvious ills afflicting our present governing system in Washington.

George Will persists in believing that the solution is to elect the right people. The point of the Mark Levin approach is that the system itself swamps "the right people" and we have put Republicans in office and given the majorities in the Senate and the House as we did under president George W. Bush and we got the second most spendthrift administration in American history before Barack Obama.

George Will says we cannot get term limits and I think he is right unless we go through an Article V approach-an approach to which he is obdurantly deaf.

OTOH, they’re keeping McConnell waiting...wonder what kind of a crowd reaction he gets..

I think they intentionally play the introductory music so loud that no one could tell and what the true atmosphere really is.

As to his speech, he stitches together a series of platitudes but he has lost all credibility.

I hear McConnell say, put me back in the Senate, give me a majority, and all will be well-bullshit!

McConnell’s canned speech compares badly with John Bolton’s take on national security under Obama.

Let’s face it, McConnell and Boehner got their training from their country club buddies.

And Pelosi and Reid learned from the Mob.

Ambassador Bolton hits all the right notes and puts the blame on Obama where it belongs for the fecklessness of American foreign policy.

However, someone will have to make the point that squandering our fiscal resources as Obama has done inevitably impairs our defense capacities and emboldens potential foes like Vladimir Putin, Iran and China. If Obama were not downsizing our defense forces out of a desire to diminish America, his domestic spending policies will soon accomplish the same result.

If there are only a few speeches you watch today, let this be one of them. Bolton starts by saying in no uncertain terms that Barack Obama is our nation’s biggest national security crisis. And it just gets better from there on.
