WASECA — A Marine from the southern Minnesota city of Waseca was killed in Afghanistan when a suicide bomber attacked his convoy, relatives said.
Lance Cpl. Caleb Erickson, 20, was the gunner in the last truck of the convoy when it was attacked Friday, his father and sister said Saturday. He was airlifted to a medical facility, where he was pronounced dead. No one else in the convoy suffered life-threatening injuries, they said.
Erickson was a 2012 graduate of Waseca High School, where he was a starter on the football team. He was also a wrestler. He joined the Marines immediately after high school. His father, Barry Erickson, was informed of his son’s death by three Marines who came to his home.

If the Half-Breed is intent on getting out of Afghanistan this year, why not just do it now and avoid the bloodshed and expense. I feel sorry for the average Afghan woman and her kids, but as long as they subscribe to the lunacy that is Islam, we should leave that $hit hole to that prick (Karzai) with the funny hat to see how he likes what the Taliban want to do to him.

DOD Identifies Marine Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Lance Cpl. Caleb L. Erickson, 20, of Waseca, Minn., died Feb. 28, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

For twenty years someone loved that boy, sacrificed for him, taught him, fed him, guided him. His parents, his teachers, his pastors, his drill instructors—all made him into a fine man. And then some evil savage, perverted by Satanic hate, destroyed it all. He died in horrible, bloody agony. His pain is over but that of his family will never end in this life. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Wipe the tears of Your suffering children, and defeat those who hate Your servants and Your kingdom.
Forget the politics people. This young man went where danger was, for you and I and his neighbors and family. He went from white-robed martyr to red-robed, for his fellow man. No greater love. I thank him and God for his sacrifice.
Had we all God’s brain, we’d never sin. We do our best. He did his best and I thank him.
My family will pray a rosary and Divine Mercy for you and yours. God’s speed.
A visitation for 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Caleb Erickson will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca on Sunday. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. (from KSTP)
