UM researchers make small — but promising — breakthrough in quest for AIDS vaccine

Small advancements make big waves in the decades-long search for an HIV vaccine, and University of Miami researchers are optimistic that their latest findings are significant: They have developed a vaccine that triggers an immune system response strong enough to kill a model AIDS virus in mice.

The vaccine is still in the early stages of development, said Geoffrey W. Stone, a UM assistant professor of microbiology and immunology who led the research study published in February’s Journal of Virology.

“But in those modest beginnings,” he

My full agreement with your thought but didn’t the Egyptian Military claim they had cured AIDS yesterday?

That was my first thought.

This is one vaccine I probably wouldn’t get because transmission is near impossible given my personal behavior.

There's a certain tragic irony in formulating a vaccine to ensure the ongoing wreckage of our society through homosexualism.

Yes. I think the Egyptian cure had something to do with boiling the patient for 60 minutes...

I learned on FR the other day that the FDA has approved trinoasitol for AIDS.

People who test positive for HIV already have the antibody in their systems.

There’s a minority set of scientists who don’t even think HIV is the cause, but that its proliferation is just a symptom, of an AIDS which is actually due to the contact of semen with intestinal mucosa which would never happen in a natural context.

In other words, the bible might not be just woofing about “receiving a due penalty in their bodies” which is more than unhealthy psychological habituation, and this was a problem well before we actually knew about HIV, though the modern HIV may have accentuated the consequences.

All this said, I want to keep reminding people that however they got there, homosexuals are in a spiritual pit and they can’t get out except by the grace of God. And wagging fingers at them in their pit is not what is going to get them out of their pit. In many cases it will take brothers and sisters, both married and single, who live out in their own lives what godly sexuality is, to show these erring people how to get it right. The church has been too lax about heterosexual adultery and one consequence is a loss of power to help those caught in other perversions.

Dear racist right winger homophobe rednecks:

Did you not know that children predominantly get AIDS, through transfusions?

Did you not know that abortion is primarily in cases of rape and incest?

Are you not aware that red-state gun owners are 92.6% more likely to rape and murder Iraqi preteens?

You would know these things if you watched more CNN and less wacko right wing Trayvon Martin PBUH shooting media.

Agreed. But the absolute worst thing our culture can do is encourage them to remain in their depravity, right into hell and the lake of fire. Any so-called Bible believing Christian who encourages that is the worst of monsters to encourage that fate, or they’re calling God a liar when He says unrepentant homosexuals go to hell. So it’s impossible to encourage homosexuality and be a Christian. Any such profession of faith is sheer delusion. Christ addresses such disobedient delusion here:

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The bath houses never closed...

*gentle cough*

Actually plague first came to the United States in the 1850's. The rail companies were importing Chinese Coolies to work on the transcontinental railway.

There was a small plague outbreak in San Francisco's Chinatown district. An alert doctor spotted the outbreak almost immediately, and appealed to the city council to institute a quarantine and rat catching program.

The town fathers refused to believe there was plague in their fair city.

They screwed around long enough for it to infect the local ground squirrel population where there was no hope stopping it from spreading. Thanks to their inaction, one can be exposed to plague anywhere in the western US.

Any parallels one wishes to draw with a more recent "gay plague" are left to the reader as an exercise.

Those who do not learn the lessons of the past...

Interesting points.

Could you reference where the phrase receiving a due penalty in their bodies is from in The Bible? I couldn't find it preliminarily.

Thanks.
