That right there is emblematic of the American left. It's all raging emotionalism. There is little personal poise, or need for self-control, it's all out emotion because the ends justify the means.
My bet is that this person truly believed in her mind that people would laud her for her “passion” for the issue. This is the American left. Emotion is the center of all that is. There is no rational thought, it's the “passion” that matters.
Not to draw too close of comparisons, but from this video it is not at all difficult to see how a Hitler or an Obama gets willingly elected by a society that prizes emotions above all else.
Very instructive.
