Illegal aliens coming across the border carrying all manner of disease.

If or when it is proved that our open borders are largely responsible for certain disease outbreaks in the US-that information will never see the light of day.
There are people in certain organizations and the government that would rather see epidemics in this country than admit their policies were wrong!

legal travel

Illegal travel is ever present and persistent ... even under the guise of legal travel. Remember, not long ago there was the use of x-ray for a particular color while traveling. With the ever changing processes of nature and weaponry am surprised it has not happened before now. And then ... nothing but nature maybe is taking place but remains unknown. May this mystery be solved soon.

One of my schoolmates brother was in an iron lung. I don't know ho long he survived as we moved away from the small town in Ohio. Horrendous disease.

Yours is the first comment to correctly note that polio-like symptoms does not equal polio. Seems most commenters only read the headline.

It sounds like either Guillain–Barré Syndrome since respiratory is compromised or Transverse Myelitis. A bunch of kids at once? I’d be checking recent vaccines as it can cause both disorders.

My wife went through something like this back in 1985. In a few hours time she was a permanent quadriplegic. She showed classic Polio deformities in her limbs that were obvious by the therapist measurements hinting that at some point early in life she possibly also had Polio. Her final diagnoses was Transverse myelitis with several contributing factors such as possible previous Polio as a child in the early 1950's, a weakened physical state due to some stress in her life when it hit, and a narrowing in her spinal cord at C-5/C-6.

It took a year for a diagnoses and she was hospitalized for six months. She got use of her arms and hands back enough to feed herself and write. The Neurologist kept asking about any previous shots such as at that time the flu vaccine which was causing some patients to develop Guillain–Barré Syndrome. They ruled it out in about the second week.

There are comments about both GB and TM at the LATIMES version of the article.

GB usually also hits the respiratory system hard often to the point of temporary need for a respirator so we were told.

Meant to add that an analysis of cerebrospinal fluid would be used in diagnosis of GB Syndrome but TM diagnosis is very difficult. Cause can range from spinal injury to viral infection.

I do appreciate your information ... May this outbreak be contained soon before it spread and may this outbreak not spread. I hope your wife improved to the point she has led and is continuing to lead a life free of her illness. Prayers said for you and yours.

Yea that's true because TM can have many origins including previous Polio. TM doesn't have a good of prognoses as GB as far as full recovery goes either.

We're in East Tennessee but if he is still practicing there is a doctor in Cali who used to be the Medical Director at Patrica Neal Rehab Center in Tennessee. My wife was his first case of TM. He left Tennessee and moved back to Cali a few years later.

Ding, ding, ding, you win the prize from me for the best suggestion of the night! I love reading posts by people who are actually aware of current side-effects of vaccines. Terrifying stuff!!! I know two people who have ended up with Guillain-Barre paralysis post vaccines. Just say no!!!
