Good news is the gun laws were all defeated. Great news would be to punish the scum legislators who submitted the laws in the first place. There should be a price extracted for pushing this evil and they should recieve no rest until they resign. We won’t be safe until voting to violate the 2nd amendment is political suicide.

“Great news would be to punish the scum legislators who submitted the laws in the first place.”

Make a list, publicize it to the electorate and go after them just like they have in Colorado.

No news. The 30-day session is limited to financial matters or issues submitted by the Governor for consideration. Gun control satisfied neither of those requirements. One bill was introduced in the House but was never even heard in committee. An attempt was made by Democrats in both chambers to change House and Senate rules to prohibit carrying of weapons in the state capital except for LEOs. That would have required a 2/3 majority or a 1/2 majority if passed by the Rules committee in each house. Those two resolutions didn't get anywhere either and were not heard by either Rules committee; there were more important issues to deal with.

But look out - this year is an election year for House members and the usual gun-grabber Dems will be looking to use it as an issue to run on, and in the 60-day session in January anything can be introduced and heard in committee.

Thanks.

I know that most of NM is controlled by Dems. BUT I also know that Dems are hunters and gun lovers too.

So, in my mind it is very doubtful that gun control crap will fly in NM.

I lived in the mining district for 14 years. Most of the miners were hard core lefties, but most of them had fine rifles and hunted every years. (they particularly liked Weatherbys)

I also think the ComDem POLs in NM took note of what has happened in CO since the gun grab. They really don’t want part of that.

Gun control can only pass in one party democrat controlled fiefdoms. Everywhere else is goes down in flames. However, we must remain vigilant.
