This is the latest I have seen. The new battles with the police happened late in the afternoon yesterday.

TV in Venezuela last night broadcast government rallies and tried to pretend there weren't thoustands in the streets opposing the government.

Our Commie Obmao-adoring press did the same about reporting 1/10 of TEA Party rallies in DC and inflating 10x all the Lefty ACORN and union cretins who marched in their social justice parades.

Just a thought here:

When the government that said it would give you everything you need can’t do that anymore... You get people in the street demanding everything under the sun including their freedom from their government.

The economy is collapsing under the weight of the communist policies of the Chavista regieme. Inflation is estimated at 56 percent according to news reports but its really worse in reality.

People are getting in more and more lines every day and it isn’t just for toilet paper anymore.

All these popular revolts popping up all over the world (Egypt, Ukraine, Venezuela) are challenging the MSM’s ability to supress news of widespread discontent against corrupt governments. The MSM is afraid that such ideas could spread to here. So they barely report any of it.

Years ago I was traveling for business in Mexico and South America. You never knew when you would be in need of toilet paper. As the places and method of traveling were somewhat extreme, I always carried an old JC Whitney car parts catalog along. A few people asked why I carried a car parts catalog in my briefcase. I explained that when needed, the pages could be torn from the book and crumpled for emergency use. It’s not Charmin, but it worked when it was necessary......

Socialists, communists and Obamanists talk a good game. Frankly, I would love to live in a world where everyone is prosperous, well educated, healthy, and happy.

Sorry, but wealth redistributionists can't deliver! Wealth redistribution ALWAYS ends in more poverty and less freedom for everyone except those at the top.

It's not like they haven't tried this crap before. Venezuela is just another in a long string of failures from the fairness and equality folks.

If you judge the size of the crowds by the amount of trash they left behind, pro-Obama rallies overwhelmed the Tea Party rallies, but that would be the only way you could reach that conclusion.

Somewhere, at a secret airstrip outside Caracas, El Presidente Maduro’s private jet is standing by in case he needs to flee Venezuela in a hurry. His lifetime “retirement” funds are safely held in Cayman Island and Swiss banks. Castro's island paradise beckons to those with the loot, Nicolas?

If I remember the old JC Whitney/ Warshawsky Enterprises correctly, had they known the use to which you put their catalogs, they would have immediately created and offered a canned bumwad product.

"Pour into your gas tank and this magic product will convert your fuel filter into the finest roll of toilet tissue available."

After all, they did offer the engine rebuild in a can. "That's right. Pour in the gas tank the next time you fill up and this amazing liquid will rebuild piston rings, restore cylinder walls, resurface valve seats and re-seal guides, not to mention create new rod bearings on the fly.

Why spend hundreds on a ring and valve job, when for $11.95 you can pour a rebuild into your tank ... that's right ... a complete engine rebuild ... in a can!" Just in case, they also had magic engine overhaul pellets, too!

What a great company! I bought many of their engine overhaul kits (not the canned product) and never had a problem.

NPR interviewed a guy this morning who they identified as the leader of the student protest movement down there. He was complaining about the government beating and shooting at students. But he said he did not support the political opposition. Instead he sought only reforms from the existing Maduro regime. My thought was, wow, your people are being brutalized and all you want is a better socialism. I hope he’s an outlier and that the broader movement is more willing to take out the socialist trash.
