California bill seeks to extend subsidized health care to illegal immigrants

A California Democrat is looking to extend taxpayer-funded health-care benefits to illegal immigrants.

State Sen. Ricardo Lara of Long Beach introduced legislation late last week that would extend health-care coverage to all Californians “irrespective of immigration status.”

“The purpose of the Health For All Act is simple — provide health care coverage to California’s remaining uninsured by expanding Medi-Cal and creating a new health exchange where the undocumented can purchase coverage,” Lara said in a statement.

Lara added that the fact that Obamacare expressly denies illegal immigrants coverage “hurts the overall health of our communities, and does not reflect California values.”

The legislation, if passed would create the “California Health Benefit Exchange Program for All Californians” which would be run by officials at California’s Obamacare exchange and would extend eligibility for Medi-Cal benefits to illegal immigrants who would qualify if they were legal.

According to Lara’s office, of the 2.3 million illegal immigrants in California, about a million are estimated to be without health-care coverage....

Illegal immigrants getting federally funded health & other benefits? Impossible as firm promises have been made by Obama, members of his administration and many powerful Democrats such as Pelosi that this can’t happen under current federal laws.

I knew.

Illegal aliens are the (to them) logical next step.

I could end up standing behind them in (a very long) line at the health care collective (and I am paying for it.)

Ugh.

If this passes in California illegals in other states will make a 14th amendment argument requiring that other state and federal exchanges allow coverage for illegals. CC

I have never in my life seen the government work so damned hard to get a group of people everything they want, more than for illegal immigrants.

Let’s be honest with ourselves here. Who were the 40 million people in the U. S. who were uninsured? Any guesses?

My take on it is this. If the truth were known, we’d realize our health care is being savaged so illegal immigrants can get on some program or another, so we can pay for them a lot easier.

Our county has one of the last county hospitals that are open. You couldn’t throw a cat without hitting an illegal there. Was all over the news that this year their budget deficit would be $16 million up from $13 million last year. It is just a black hole that we throw money into.

“Impeach Obama in 2014, PERIOD.”

How will that happen with the current make up of the Congress and the supreme communist cowards hiding in black robes?

Impeach Obama in 2014, PERIOD.

Politically, that ranks as one of my priorities, though I'd like more than a few taken down with him. I'd be amazed if the House has what it takes to carry this out, knowing the Senate won't back them.

The 2014 election is a critical one. We need a large turnout of conservative voters to stop this WH tyrant from destroying our country.

But then, you already know that.

The House has the sole responsibility of Impeachment.

The Senate decides on the matter of Removal from Office.

House = Cop.

Senate = Judge and Jury.

Impeachment is just the first step.
