HISSY FIT: The New AR-15 Design is Compliant with “SAFE Act” and Has Gun Control Activists Pouting
Clash Daily ^ | 2/10/14 | Jonathan S.

Prototypes for the newly designed AR-15 are hitting gun shops across New York, as gun shops and machinists have designed a rifle that complies with the anti-gun law. At least one gun shop has received a letter from state police saying that the new AR-15 style rifles should be legal in the state as long as they don’t have some of the features that the law prohibits.

The new gun law bans all kinds of semi-automatic rifles that have been labeled with the “assault” term even though these are very common rifles and are no more powerful than the average hunting rifle.

Features like adjustable stocks, pistols grips, and flash suppressors has been deemed to be unlawful on these rifles, mainly because it makes them LOOK mean. And we all know how little these anti-gun lawmakers really know about guns, as the “Ghost gun” video illustrated.

The new AR-15 design did away with the pistol grip which gives the gun an odd paintball gun look. The stock is fixed as well, but at least New Yorkers now have a legal way to own an AR-15, a fact which is still driving some gun control activists mad.

No one has ever accused me of knowing what’s going on, but it was just a few months ago I found out that Texas doesn’t have open-carry for handguns. It’s hard for me to believe that we have three Southern states w/out open-carry - SC, FL and TX. As for the the newly-designed AR, Granddaughter Number Three would love one.

The pic at the article does show the new “stock/grip”, and yeah, it looks weird. I’d rather have seen them go the route of the FN2000 or other similar rifles, and have the stock “grow” to engulf the grip, similar to the “sporting” AK. The compartment in the AR has always been a little small anyway.

I feel much safer if my neighbor isn’t using an assault rifle with a bayonet lug or a flash suppressor when he’s deer hunting. Those are scary!

If he has a nice, pretty fully-automatic pump action 12 gauge Glock AK-47, I’m okay with that as long as it doesn’t have a common scary feature sought after by criminals - such as a grenade launcher or a 30 round standard capacity clip.

Google California compliant AR stock and you get lots of images like that, sans the Hello Kitty motif.

No pistol grip no threaded barrel end no bayonette lug it is legal with no registration required. Of course you still have to hide the mags over 10 rounds.

That’s an ugly looking stock. I think I would opt for the bullet button if I lived in occupied territory.

Some times you run out of ammo like the 20th Maine at Gettysburg and need to have a bayonet charge when hunting.

Please do not give my wife any ideas. My, yes my AR has somehow migrated to her side of the bed... Though with her tastes I wouldn't expect to come home to a pink AR, a purple one would be a real possibility.
