I think people in Texas are wimpily allowing businesses and universities to place spanish speakers at the top of the list front of the line, El Paso is all spanish speaking

That’s nothing new—El Paso has been nearly all Spanish speaking all of my long life.

Areas around the border with Mexico are also nearly all Spanish speaking.

I live near Austin, and there are a lot of Spanish speaking people in this area, too-—to say nothing of San Antonio.

I think the people of Texas are taking note of Illinois, California, and New York and know what will happen to them if Democrats get a foothold in their state.

I think people are so uninformed that they have no knowledge of IL, CA, and NY outside of those states.

Makes no difference. If/when Texas even becomes moderately competitive, the entire nation is lost.

There is no America without Texas.

The Republic will crumble, because the resources to compete for that prize will drain efforts elsewhere.

Conservatives better start educating the minorities and Hispanics and single women about how they’re following a pied piper ideology that will lead them into poverty forever.

Texans are allowing it. The businesses are the hugest pushers

Money money

Nothing about the love of country, the kids’ future, borders language

Money is IT

Notice that Aaron comes at this from the Democratic point-of-view, as if all his readers are rooting for a "blue Texas" in the future?

Yes that's his job. But he was quite fair in his analysis.

So—what’s the solution?

If we shipped all the illegals back today, there still wouldn’t be an increase in jobs-—Most Americans aren’t interested in doing the dirty jobs they do.

There are pockets of ComDem control in Texas. Austin, parts of Houston, few places in Dallas and most of the Rio Grande Valley (not all) are lefties.

Past that? Will be a hot war before we turn the state over to Leftist ComDems.

Do What?

Have you ever lived in Texas?

“Texas is not where you were born but a State of Heart, Mind and Attitude.” (That culture is not Leftist)

My great grandfather was born in the Republic of Texas in 1843. We have lived in this county since 1889. We aren’t going anywhere. And the ComDems are not running Texas.

"One of the problems with the whole Texas-turning-purple/blue idea, though, is that there isn't a whole lot of great data to back it up. In large part, it's a theoretical idea based on the fact that the state's population is growing and changing fast -- "

Well yeah, the state's population is growing and changing. A big part of that is conservative refugees moving here from all over the country, which curiously seems to be discounted in every report about Texas demographics.

Even Republicans know Texas will be blue soon.

You've really got to stop swilling that lamestream media Kool-Aid. It's making you talk stupid.

The problem as I see it is that those moving to Texas and other Southern state come to escape the high taxes and regulations, but bring with them that liberal attitude.

And just where do you think conservative refugees are moving to? New York and California?

Yeah, we get our share of libs moving in, but they're more than offset by conservatives instinctively relocating to the last American refuges, which are the big red states.

Tell them to speak English

How hard is that?

Texas has had a 40% Hispanic population for decades. We didn’t go red without Hispanics. The left is having a nice wet dream. The ‘rats migrating here from blue states are flexing their muscles. But I doubt they will have enough impact. They don t have much control over our movers and shakers.

I don’t know—how hard is it for you to speak Spanish?

Well, there’s my point.

It’s about as easy for me to learn Spanish if I move to a Spanish speaking country as it is for the Spanish speakers to learn English in our English speaking country.

BTW, when I lived in a foreign country I learned the language immediately, and spoke it for three years. When I go to France, I speak French, not English, like all the other Americans who go around pissing off the French, throwing money at them, and not appreciating their culture.

And I think we should ask the electorate and the veterans if they’d like to learn a new language in order to accommodate the illegals who don’t care about our culture.

it would be easy for me to learn Spanish. If someone asked me respectfully to do do, for some good reason, or if I lived in a Spanish speaking country I would. I’ts quick from French, and I have a good command of latin.

It wasn’t hard for my ancestors to speak English when they emigrated to here.

LOL!

At one time we had some German friends, and when I decided to go to Germany to visit them, I decided to learn the language.

Let me tell you-—my tongue doesn’t twist the proper way to speak German. It made for a great vacation because my friend who toured us around was our translator. I tried and tried—but finally gave it up. I could read it and write it-but I never could speak it worth a darn!

BTW, our friends were Bavarian—and they didn’t speak Hoch Deutsch either.

The democrats and reality are in opposition. I think Texas is becoming more conservative.

Democrats tend to underestimate the historical significance of the latino/anglo bonds that have formed over many generations in Texas. We are well blended as a people and a Texas mindset. We are a red state because the majority of Texans are conservative. A few more latinos or anglos won’t cause a major shift in our culture. This immigration (legal or illegal) has been going on throughout the history of Texas. We know how to deal with it.

Texas will not become a blue state any time soon.

“Texas will be a swing state by 2012.”

I read that in 2000. Science fiction.

Correction, I believe what I read in 2000 was "Texas will be a swing state by 2008".

Beam me up.
