The Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by more than two million in coming years, congressional budget analysts said Tuesday in the most detailed analysis of the laws impact on jobs.

As far as I can tell “The Affordable Care Act” is anything BUT affordable ...
The Congressional Budget Office is perhaps the only honest agency left in government. I am truly amazed that it hasn’t been corrupted or shut down.
ONLY two million? I think they’re low-ballin’ it!
ONLY two million? I think they’re low-ballin’ it!
And that equates to 2 million more not contributing only sucking an economy already headed down. Nah, this won’t exacerbate that!
The Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by more than two million in coming years....
Yet the number of part-timers may increase. And when the Obama-bots look at the big picture, they can claim unemployment is down, see?
It looks like the only way for ObamaCare to succeed is to get rid of the full timers (and their group insurance benefits) and have a nation of part time WalMart employees who must have ObamaCare, or else.
Calling unaffordable Obamacare affordable is ludicrous. There are more people without insurance now than when Obamacare began, and as it begins to affect smaller businesses, that number will go up. It isn’t a matter of choice when people can’t afford it. If the GOP would stop being sidetracked by unimportant issues, like the legal status of illegals, there is a gold mine of votes to be extracted out of fed up Americans.
I don’t know why you would think that. The CBO gave fantasy cost numbers for Obamacare that said it would reduce government spending. Everyone knew that their figures were bunk, but Obama used their bogus cost numbers as one of his main arguments for passing the law. The tax impact of 2 million lost jobs never figured into the CBO;s initial cost estimates and now seem like political cover for that organization as the true cost of Obamacare begins to emerge. Like the Bureau of Labor Statistics bogus numbers on unemployment, the CBO’s Obamacare cost numbers seem entirely political.
Gotta love how they do not call it obamacare.
I prefer Democratcare now. Every single one of those goose stepping Dems needs to own this. Every job loss. Every cancer patient losing their insurance. All of it.
“As far as I can tell The Affordable Care Act is anything BUT affordable ...” ACA is aka the Unaffordable Care Act.
My wife and I are both retired citizens. One of the things we do is to try and avoid traffic jams and crowds when we go out for lunch and to do our errands.
So, when we go out to lunch it is usually after the so called lunch hour, 12:45 pm to 1 pm.
Since the first of the year, we have noticed two interesting trends:
1. Even less people than normal in the good restaurants and better so called fast food places for lunch. Finding a parking place rarely occurs now.
2. Often, there is a what appears to be a mini rush hour re traffic from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, like we used to have after 3:30 pm and then 5 pm plus or minus a half hour. The drivers don’t appear to be going shopping or after school kids. Usually just a driver and no passengers, lining up at the traffic lights.
My wife knows many friends and others, who have had their work day hours cut to 4 to 6 hours per day. Even Walmart and other chains are cutting the daily hours for their employees since the first of the year.
A younger relative couple living in an East Bay county are seeing similar traffic patterns re a new mini rush hours. The husband is getting home about 15 to 25 minutes early. He said the end of the work day traffic is a lot lighter, and the going to work traffic is about the same. The wife usually does her shopping and errands from 2 to 3:30 pm before picking up their kids at school. She said that the traffic loads during that time are similar to past years’s after 3:30 pm.

CBO: Obamacare Will Lead To 2 Million Fewer Workers In The Labor Force By 2017
The Congressional Budget Office on Tuesday said that the Affordable Care Act will contribute to the equivalent of 2 million workers out of the labor market by 2017, as employees work fewer hours or decide to drop out of the labor force entirely.
The CBO revised much of its outlook on the Affordable Care Act in a new report released Tuesday.
It really needs be called “DemocratCare” opposed to “Obamacare” as calling it “Obamacare” puts it on him, NOT the party that is behind it.
The Democrat Party with their agenda hides behind figureheads leaving them to take the blame, or the awards so they can dodge the blame, but revel in the awards if successful.
2 million jobs lost ? hell, when they drop out of the work force, we’ll be at full employment
The reduction in employment from the health care law includes some people choosing not to work at all and other people choosing to work fewer hours than they would have in the absence of the law, the CBO said.
The CBO is saying this because they don’t like having a black President.
This turd of a law passed in 2010 and CBO just figured out that this law is a turd.
The report is inaccurate by understatement. More than 2,000,000 jobs will be lost.
The creation of JOBS creates the need for MORE jobs, as the increased demand created by the initial employment causes the need for more employment.
By 2017? It’s already cost more then 2 million people their jobs.
US LOST 2 MILLION WORKERS IN 2013 (alone):
I guess my personal boycott on drive thru burgers is working well.
WE ELECT folks to preserve protect and defend our way of life,, we get soggy fries and peed-off part-time food tenders.
The Founding Fathers would flip their wigs if they saw this debacle in action.
And the Obamacare lovers are loving this..why..because this is what they wanted..more people dependent on Govt...less people working, more people collecting Govt treats
This was in WaPo?
“DEMOCare as another freeper called it last week...”
Good for that FREEPER. DEMOCRATCARE, DEMOCARE, whatever. Getting the point made that it’s the DEMOCRATS is what is necessary.
How many temp jobs were added to facilitate the transition?
Probably a reduction in the existing jobs - this isn't counting the countless number that will never be created because of this law.
Even accepting the numbers, it is still a horrific result.
ObamaCare was designed PURPOSELY to FAIL:
Hence, the Powers That Be will use their minions in the media to blame Health Insurance Companies, triggering the sheeple to DEMAND the government DO SOMETHING and Voila!!!
Single Payer: Just what the left always wanted anyway....
From 1999 to 2012...
Population growth: ~12.40% (+34,312,000)
Uninsured growth: ~27.18% (+10,249,000)
Government insured growth: ~51.25% (+34,390,000)
* Medicaid growth: ~86.10% (+23,550,000)
* Medicare growth: ~32.15% (+11,894,000)
* Military covered: ~37.78% (+5,176,000)
Drop the Military figures out of the numbers of government insured and growth drops only slightly to 49.87% as over 29.2 million joined the Medicaid/Medicare rolls.
If the ranks of the uninsured kept pace with population growth there would be nearly 5.6 million FEWER uninsured than there are. Obviously, there was legitimate basis for some concern over what market forces were driving people to opt out of all health insurance options, but the potential public-sector expenditure of paying for medical treatment of some subset of these uninsured was NOT AT ALL “the big problem” we needed to focus on.
If the ranks of the government insured, less military personnel, kept pace with population growth there would be almost 22 million FEWER government insured than there are. Glaringly obvious is that factors spurring the growing ranks of the government insured was — and remains — a public-sector expenditure issue FOUR TIMES GREATER than that represented by the potential medical expenses incurred annually among the totally uninsured. THIS is “the big problem” we should have had in our sights all along.
Like every other number they lie about, it will be at least 10 times more than that.
And there are only 12 million illegals in the U.S.
Who’d’a’thunk it that the Washington Post, AND the CBO would be racists!!!
So, Democratcare (using Lodi90’s term) gives people the freedom NOT to work! Let us shlubs who work pay for it!
(...And yet the GOP's puppet master, the Chamber of Amnesty, is now opposed to repealing Obamacare, stating that Congress should be working to "fix the parts of Obamacare that can be fixed")...
All that matters to the miscreants that shoved this suppository is the "victory" of its passing. It is no more "fixable" than pancreatic cancer.
- The Unaffordable Queer’s Act
No, it’s a POS if you are a person trying to start your own small business. Now, thanks to the ACA, you now have to insure employees, doesn’t matter if you have a big competitor like Wal-Mart in town, doesn’t matter if they are part-time either. That’s the problem with this administration and the Congress, they are upholding and leveraging big corporations and giving a great advantage in that direction.
Even the name is a lie. You would think a sitting US President pulling a scam on the American people like this would be enough for impeachment but noooo. What the hell does this fool have to do? Seriously, round up people and start executing them? Well he pretty much is doing that already isn’t he when you think about it. How many people have lost their insurance already? Millions? How many people so far have been turned away from life saving treatments because of that? How many have died? And these things posing as Republicans do absolutely NOTHING about it, they just keep allowing this Islamo Marxist Kenyan run amok with the lives of Americans.
In a word, we’re screwed!
Ok—that’s too words.
I blame a lot of this on both public education—and paying people to have kids out of wedlock.
This is what “focused like a laser creating jobs” looks like.
