Hypothetical 1: A Soros-funded leftwing group sues the State of Texas in a court presided over by a hack Dimwit federal judge appointed to the district court by Obama. The group demands certification as Texas' convention delegates based on the many invisible emanating penumbras from the U.S. Constitution that always seem to find new rights for leftwing causes. Given how it usually works today, it will be done to protect civil rights because Texas is de facto a racist state (per the U.S. Justice Dep't) because of the Civil War.

The Dem federal judge rubber stamps these clowns as the delegates.

Because the appellate process is likely to take years, a bunch of socialists head to the convention to represent Soros' agenda as Texas' delegates.

Hypothetical 2: Soros and Bloomberg fund federal civil rights lawsuits in every state that might send conservatives as delegates to a ConCon. Dem federal judges invalidate the delegates immediately prior to the convention. The ConCon takes place with delegates only from socialist regimes like California, Illinois, and New York.

Not only do the courts not have ANY jurisdiction over an Article V convention, 2/3ds of States are required to propose an amendment. And then 3/4s to ratify it.

The US Government was formed by the states and it can be taken apart by the states. An article 5 convention is exactly what is needed since those in the NOOR LOCH are no longer holding to their oath of office.

I am for the convention, for nullification, and am for secession if the former fails.

And the large majority -- likely nearly all -- of those who would participate in such a convention (and in the state ratifying conventions) will have far less knowledge, far less real-world experience and, most importantly, far, far less wisdom than did the Founders.

It is frightening nearly beyond words to think that this would create an opportunity for these convention members -- dis-educated in the public schools and indoctrinated in American universities -- to tinker with the inner workings of our great Constitution.

Here's the real question.

Why would Obama, the Congress, the federal judiciary, Democrats, GOPe, media, the unions, etc. follow the constitutional requirements for a ConCon that's against their interests?

This is NOT about a constitutional convention and the controls to prevent hijacking and mob rule are spelled out clearly in the links I posted earlier.

The talks so far have almost all been focused on budget constraints and fiscal solvency. But there have been discussions about such things as requiring that congressional bills have no earmarks and deal with a single issue only and that all bills must include the names of who wrote the bill as well as sponsors.

From your screen name alone, I'd like to think you are knowledgeable of our revolutionary and constitutional history.

The states are very aware of what ails our republic. They endure it from both ends. They have pissant bureaucrats from DC pushing them and their constituents around. Said constituents complain to state reps who have no ability to correct the problem.

Nothing is guaranteed, but I know that over half the states filed suit against Obamacare. AZ was told it couldn't defend its southern border. States around the nation are so much as told not to identify voters. The media purposely avoid our nascent resistance movement. Good. Let it build below the national radar.

So I believe the states know they can perhaps regain the power taken away from them 101 years ago. I doubt the states will dance around the edges, for structural reforms are needed and they know it, regardless of party.

Structural changes, like repeal of the 17th cannot be ignored.

If, as you predict, the states will weasel around amendments, we'll be no worse off, for America 2014 is a police state.

Don't be so sure. It doesn't take a genius, let alone a member of the Framing generation to realize our republic is in serious trouble because the people were sold the snake-oil of democracy 101 years ago.

Delegates (not reps) will show up with commissions, with defined limits to their voting power. Indiana's directive to delegates is backed up with felony sanctions for violations.
