The problem with the immigration campaign of Mr. Zuckerberg's associates is the following. PC interpretations of the Constitution's "uniform Rules of Naturalization" clause aside, Clause 4 of Section 8 of Article I, the states have never delegated to Congress, via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate immigration. This is evidenced by the following excerpt from Thomas Jefferson's writings where Jefferson had clearly indicated, in terms of the 10th Amendment nonetheless, that Congress has no delegated powers to regulate immigration, immigration therefore a state power issue.
“4. _Resolved_, That alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the State wherein they are: that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual States, distinct from their power over citizens. And it being true as a general principle, and one of the amendments to the Constitution having also declared, that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people,” the act of the Congress of the United States, passed on the — day of July, 1798, intituled “An Act concerning aliens,” which assumes powers over alien friends, not delegated by the Constitution, is not law, but is altogether void, and of no force (emphasis added).” —Thomas Jefferson, Draft of the Kentucky Resolutions - October 1798.

So what Mr. Zuckerberg's associates first need to do concerning their immigration campaign is the following. They need to inspire Congress to propose an appropriate immigration amendment to the Constitution to the states as required in general by the Constitution's Article V.

And then, if the states chose to ratify the amendment, Congress would have the specific power that it needs to regulate immigration, and Mr. Zuckerberg and his associates would be heros.

“well... nothing we can do now. That money has moved around so much there’s no way we’ll ever really be able to account for it. Guess we’ll just have to reform our tax laws and legalize it.”

We already did that with marijuana and gay marriage.

We already do that when we tell the American Indians who sue for getting their lands back which were signed by the US govt to forget about it.

And we already do that to some extent with the IRS and tax returns filed more than 3 years ago.

And we already do that if you are owed money from more than 3 years ago on an IRS return, you are out of luck.

And we already do that with many works of art that the west appropriated from undeveloped countries when we tell them, we got it and you are not getting it back. Many many wester art galleries are being asked to give their stuff back to the original countries because they were mostly plundered by western treasure hunters.

So, it is likely the illegals who have been here a long time are saying “we’ve been here, and we are staying.”

Don’t mislead on that ad. It’s not endorsed by the House GOP. It’s an excellent ad and takes a lot of steam out of the Dem effort. You’re misrepresenting what it says.

Every FReeper should watch the ad for themselves. Let’ not lose our heads, that only helps the Left.

The ad is awful.

What does pay fines, taxes mean 1010? WHO pays fines taxes and why?

The ad doesn’t say, does it?

I dont think these ads help. If they actually had footage of ICE agents arresting children at elementary school they might be able to trick the viewer. The RNC, NRCC and leadership don’t want to pass it right now. They want Democrats to demand amnesty plus and try to leave voters with no choice but to vote GOP.

Even with the asshole (Boehner’s word) Dreamers they even imply these are 30 year old BS artists.

Steve King was talking about the valedictorian(best) and the drug mules(worst).

What about the regular below average deadbeat Dreamers?

They’re all traitors and the lackeys of international corporatists

Yep. I'd not be surprised if EVERY stinkin' one of them has been promised to have ALL of their future campaigns bankrolled (initially by them, then some sort of "worked in" slush fund) AND their retirement accounts, too.

That's why they could care less about what We the People/their constituents/their base have to say.
