The latest Rasmussen poll on the race for the embattled Louisiana Democrat’s Senate seat shows Landrieu continuing to lose ground to her Republican challengers, and as David Gregory and Chuck Todd both observed on Morning Joe on Friday, things just aren’t looking very good for her.
Without the president on the ballot, I have to say, I dont know if the numbers work for her any more, work for any Democrat anymore. This is a unique — she has not had to run with this few registered Democrats in a nonpresidential year, it’s going to be really tough for her.
As even the New York Times (albeit gently) pointed out this morning, President Obama and ObamaCare are looking like the major drivers of a forthcoming downfall, and Landrieu is taking every opportunity to differentiate herself from the White House and remind voters about all of the issues that aren’t ObamaCare she can manage; in that same vein, I’m sure she’ll be watching for the reportedly pending Keystone XL pipeline report from the State Department like a hawk.
Landrieu seems to have fallen slightly behind Cassidy, who is slowly improving. But who knows? November is some time off. So many have invested their faith in “Proud Mary”, including Republican businesspeople.
Of couse none of the numbers add up. Everyhing about him is a fraud. We don’t even know who he really is or where he came from nor do his braindead supporters.
So far, however, the GOP still has plenty of time to screw it up, as well as buying time for the Dems to sign up dead and illegal folks..
To bad Jindle didn’t rum, slam dunk, and a Conservative would have won the Gov. in a special election.
Cassidy is the establishment Republican candidate. There is also a Tea Party backed candidate, Robert Maness, who is a far better candidate. At a townhall meeting my husband attended, my husband referred to Mary Landrieu as Hillary Landrieu, because he says Mary is too pretty a name for her. Cassidy chided my husband and said that Landrieu is a “nice” person. Kind of reminds me of when McCain said something to the effect that Obama was a nice person and that we had nothing to fear from him during the 2008 campaign. Yes, it’s early. Landrieu also has been helped by ACORN in the past, and there’s no reason to believe they won’t come through for her again. My Mother and Father, who have been deceased for over 20 years, probably voted for her in the last two elections.
It'd be interesting if a certain family from West Monroe would publicly support the Republican challenger - I don't think Landrieu's name recognition reaches far enough across the state (in a positive way for her) to counter that.
Gee chuck, when she wins by a landslide.....
will you figure it out?
And, vice versa, Manness chided Cassidy for comparing Landrieu to Mussolini.
State Rep. Paul Hollis is also running. He’s up on TV already. Manness isn’t.
When did Maness do that? And I have seen some Maness ads, although not recently.
You’re obviously a Cassidy fan. I am not. I don’t endorse any establishment candidate.
You’re obviously delusional.
Delusional how? Because I choose someone other than who you like? If anything, you have convinced me even more that your postings about Maness have some credibility issues. You can take the low road and I’ll take the high road.
You think you're a telepath.
I think I’m a telepath. Good one. If your candidate is any indication of the success of past Republicans put up against Hillary Landrieu by the establishment, we’re in for another long ride with her in the Senate. She’s going to walk the dog on him.
Your telepathy is still off. Try again.
My telepathy? You’re getting absurd. This was a political discussion. Let me guess. You’re a member of the establishment who feels it is more important to go after fellow Republicans than it is to go after Dems. You don’t really need telepathy for that. You’re just a waste of my good time to even try to get into a discussion with you. You have lowered yourself to the level of childishness, and I will not lower myself to your level to engage with you.
What discussion? You asked something, I answered. Instead of thanking me, all you’ve been up to is spewing the absurd venom coming from the (wildly incorrect) voices in your head. You owe me several apologies, but I reckon they won’t be forthcoming.
