Veterans dying because of health care delays

U.S. veterans are dying because of delays in diagnosis and treatment at VA hospitals.

At least 19 veterans have died because of delays in simple medical screenings like colonoscopies or endoscopies, at various VA hospitals or clinics, CNN has learned.

The new document obtained by CNN shows a worse problem than has previously been made public by the VA.

As CNN has previously reported, as many as 7,000 veterans were on a backlog list -- waiting too long for colonscopies or endoscopies -- at VA facilities in Columbia, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia.

This is what happens when you have to depend on the government for your healthcare.

This is a horrible way to treat our veterans, but it's also a preview of things to come for ALL of us under Obamacare.

Please read the full article to get all the details -- it's worth it.

This depends entirely on where you are located. Some areas....are heavily underdeveloped. There’s a VA Center up in Colorado....in the far south of the state....which has lots of open appointments and high regards. Some of these centers around north Florida....just aren’t built for the number of clients they have.

The VA system is a window to look at Obamacare.

No other business or government department could get away with treating people as shabbily as the VA does.

The VA system is a window to look at Obamacare.

Actually more a window into what will happen when Obamacare implodes and the true goal of Obamacare - a move to single-payer National Healthcare happens.

A National healthcare System, which is the true goal of Obamacare, will treat people just as shabbily if not more so.

About 10 years ago, when I turned 50, the VA said I needed a colonoscopy. Told me there was a 3 year waiting list. Went to my primary care provider through my work insurance and got one in 3 weeks.

The treatment rendered by some VAs (there are a few exceptions) is abominable. This is the kind of “health care” that will be provided once the progs push through their brand of universal care.

The Atlanta VA is, out of the 7 VA hospitals I’ve received care, the absolute pits!

In my personal experience with VA healthcare, its always been timely, efficient and competent. Sad that many vets don't find the same.

“Told me there was a 3 year waiting list. Went to my primary care provider through my work insurance and got one in 3 weeks.”

3 week vs 3 year waiting list — I can believe it and this is how it will be under Obamacare — the 3 year waiting list.

Canada is also a view into gov run healthcare:

Funding cuts hurt cataract wait time

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3115981/posts

There the waiting time went from 5 months (!!!) which people were used to, to almost a year!!!!

Good morning.

In my personal experience with VA healthcare, its always been timely, efficient and competent.

When I first entered the VA in 1979 the Richmond, and Tampa (just opened) hospitals sucked. By 1985, both hospitals have been good. James A. Haley and staff are very good, with few complaints.

The VA has doctors.

It will soon look like the Mayo Clinic compared with the Obamacare system

No one really looked into comparisons with military medicine and with socialized medicine systems in other countries

The VA has always been like this. Do people think it USEDto be good? When?

Obamacare has one major effect. Very few people would go to med school now

In five to ten yrs there will be a shortage of providers that will be profound and the future of that situation, not better

What we will have is the VA with 100 X the patients and no providers. The stupidity of our allowing this to happen, BOner blaming the shutdown on Cruz, she offer shutting out Cruz speak instead if heeding cruz’ warmings will be devastating

Obamacare Do people think it won’t be a hundred times worse than the VA but without the providers?

There is story after story claiming how wonderful VA government run healthcare is to justify single payer. Say it ain’t so that it fails. Better bring in tens of millions of illegals to fix everything. That seems to be the new solution to all our problems.
