  Highway 285 can be treacherous even without the ice - probably best just to avoid driving with ice on it. Lewis Grizzard once referred to Atlanta's highway 285 as the evil circle of hell.

All roads in our area were clear and dry yesterday afternoon. Mr. GG2 and I ventured out to the PO and grocery store. Snow still on the yards but nothing on the roads.

There was still ice in shady spots yesterday afternoon here. OTP, but close-in OTP, on the Northside.

Was on Route 64 in Virginia going 65 when all of the sudden . . .

Do you mean I-64? As for the ice, the same thing happened to me on I-85 south of Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon. Doing about 60 mph when the car spun out. Fortunately, no one hit us. And yes, it's a God thing.
