Democrats have long enabled the tea party movement to villainize the federal government, Sen. Charles Schumer (D., N.Y.) said in a speech Thursday.
In an address at the left-leaning Center for American Progress Action Fund, Mr. Schumer said the grassroots conservative groups won over voters by convincing them that government overreach caused their economic problems — an argument Democrats have done too little to rebut.
“When the tea party elite came in and said, ‘Government is your problem,’ we didn’t say: ‘No, it isn’t. It’s part of your solution,’” said Mr. Schumer, a member of Senate Democratic leadership. Tea party leaders, for instance, have effectively fanned anger against the government in the wake of the economic recession, bypassing the roots of the economic collapse in deregulation and lapses in oversight and glossing over the changes in technology and globalization that have wiped out some middle-class jobs, he said.
“It was a superficial but very believable theory with an easy scapegoat: those Washington politicians and bureaucrats who created all this government to benefit themselves are to blame for all of your ills and anxieties,” Mr. Schumer said. “It allowed the tea party to fill the vacuum and capture the anger that was bubbling in the land.”
Tea party leaders said voters will be reacting this year to Democrats’ big-government solution of 2010, the year the Affordable Care Act was passed....

You get more of what you focus on. Liberalism/progressivism/leftism is a toalt focus on the negative. It is an obsession with poverty, lack, hardship and misfortune. It can do nothing but increase the experience of poverty, lack, hardship and misfortune. It is all a negativity consciousness. It is the mindset and attitude of losers. Negativity rather than appreciation and gratitude that result in growth and prosperity.
Democrats are often successful in their own lives because of a postive focus but then these same people violate what made them successful and become negativity obsessed. Personal or public, negativity is deatha nd destruction. Democrates are the party of the negativity, the party of death, decay and destruction.
Schumer is a vile, hateful man I can’t understand how he gets reelected.

Schumer is a hateful bastard from a block away. Keeps getting elected in a state (NY) where a Democrat would have to be caught in flagrante with a pig to be voted out.
And right there is why Chuck Schumer (called “Schmuck” Schumer by former Senator Alphonse D’Amato) might never be able to agree with real Americans. If government is the solution, then the problem is truly grave.
And Chuck, there are no T.E.A. party ‘elites’. There isn’t even a single panel of leadership types, grass roots are like that.
Chuckie and the rest of the democratic commies must be scared to death of the 2014 election. And rightly so.
If polling showed RATS doing well in Nov, we’d be sledgehammered with it.
