A little math here:
$530 million in taxes / $500,000 baseline = 1,060 people paying...???
Even if you double the $500,000 base line to $1,000,000 in income that is $250,000 more in taxes per person...
Someone doesn't do math very well or the "rich" in NYC are about the get raped...

Uh, sorry but your math makes no sense for computing the number of people who would pay. It is people who make over $500K per year, not that anyone would actually pay $500K.
That being said, I oppose the idea of such a tax.

I understand a citizen tax slave of NYC who makes $7,500,000 a years will pay a larger share of the $530 million...
But how many people in NYC make that type of money...?
Probably a couple hundred at best...and probably damn good at hiding their taxable income...
My point is I think their math is pie in the sky...
It sounds good to the working class guy, which they need his political support, who thinks "I don't care what a person with a $500 K income pays in taxes....
Push come to shove if the commie mayor gets his way....that working class stiff will be footing the tax increase as well in the future..
