Here’s a new angle on that crazy Richard Sherman interview: Erin Andrews ruined everything.

Kevin Harlan, best known for doing play-by-play announcing for CBS and TNT and getting all throaty and excited when somebody dunks the ball and/or when he can say “ass” on TV, was on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh yesterday talking about — what else? — Richard Sherman. Harlan, to his credit, tried to take a different track with his analysis of the situation, calling out sideline reporter Erin Andrews rather than Sherman/Crabtree/the media/society/Twitter.
The most salient parts:
“I don’t know if [Andrews] was unprepared, her reaction was more about her than the guy. It was very odd. If you go back and look at that interview, her reaction was more like drama queenish.”
“If Michelle Tafoya or someone like that were interviewing, I can’t help believe that she wouldn’t have asked the appropriate followup and been a little bit more composed. Whereas the gal that was asking the questions was almost like she was on a stage. It wasn’t about her, it’s all about him, and the more I think about it, the more irritated I get.”

That is exactly how I got it. If one of Holder’s people was on the mike everything would have come out fine.
He’s saying she asked a stupid question which caused Sherman to go nuts and then she panicked and lost her composure and fell apart.
Yup, that too. She was a creepy ass cracker that didn’t know how to properly talk to a black person.
What is he talking about? Erin did just fine, considering no one knew if F-Bombs were going to be dropped any second, and they only had so much time anyway. Erin actually provided Sherman with an out from his rage cycle, if he had wanted to become calm, but he ignored her tone. People are so easily shaken up these days, it’s amazing.
I think a voice in her ear told her to throw it back to the booth. Its not like she’s the director and decide these things on her own.

Outside of Eli Gold, Kevin Harlan is the best radio play-by-play announcer in the business.

Blaming the chick is idiocy.
Nothing beats Harlan or Gus Johnson calling a game early in the NCAA tournament. Harlan should be calling the Final Four.
Kevin Harlan has always been a JERK..first of all, Erin Andrews was composed..in fact she was TOO composed..all she asked back was one simple question “Who was talking about you” its a question anyone would ask..she did a great job its not her fault Sherman acted like a pompous a-hole
I loved hearing him when he did play-by-play for the Chiefs.
What a CROCK. If you look up composure in your Funk & Wagnalls, you’ll find a picture of Erin Andrews. In all honesty, after Sherman’s rant in some third world language, her question, “Who’s talking about you?”, left me laughing hysterically.
Kevin Harlan must have mommy issues.

Too much is being made of the interview
Sherman was loud, but didn’t swear or call Crabtree a N word. Andrews just got caught off guard on the interview...not unexpected considering being postgame
He can’t treat a fellow Gator like that.
