Oh my guys, speaking of Bridgegate, last week I railed against Christie and I still dislike the man intensely and I still have a bridge to sell anyone who thinks the fat man knew nothing.

BUT GET OVER IT ALREADY!!!

I’m sick of hearing about it but the media....a bunch of grade-schoolers....are having a great time.

Knarf - I’m Catholic as is Fishtalk (and IIRC others that routinely participate on this thread are as well).
We’ve had Saturday Mass in our area for YEARS. Most churches have either a 5 or 5:30 p.m. Saturday Mass. Quite a few also have a Sunday evening Mass, either 5, 5:30 or 7.

Nice that you go to Mass on Sunday mornings. FT often sings in her choir at Mass on Sunday a.m. If the Pope and priests say it’s OK for us to attend Mass other than Sunday a.m., that’s good enough for me.

BTW - some folks go to church Sunday a.m. and tape the programs and comment before and after church.

God Bless you,
SC

p.s. I don’t recall seeing you on this thread before. I’ll look forward to reading your comments and get your perspective when you return from church.

It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks

I thought you were leaving to go to church. Or are you texting instead of paying attention to the pastor?

I have no faith in any talk that occurs when people should be in church.

Most shows taped on Saturday. Where are YOU supposed to be?

(rhetorical)

Catholics have mass on Saturdays and many more on sundays.

I think that monitoring who’s who on Sundays is a worthwhile effort.

I agree Sister Pat! There are so MANY MORE “gates” with the Obummer admin, just this week there were new discussions and/or reports about the IRS SCANDAL and the BENGHAZI SCANDAL - - when is the LSM going to cover those??? (rhetorical question - - no one but FNC is).

Judge Jeanine was great on Benghazi and bashing Hillary! last night. If you didn’t see it, here’s a link to the thread and vido of same:

Your opinion is a valid as anyone else’s; sure. But don't be surprised when our opinion isn't the same as yours, or disagrees with you. Some may disagree more strongly than others.

There are a lot of regulars on this thread who attend a lot of different churches/faiths, or, as their own choice, perhaps none. All are welcome!

This thread is about the Sunday morning talk shows provided by the various television news networks and is not specifically religious, one way or the other.

I’ve never made Oyster Stew before.

I was curious and did a little searching - looks like most are made with milk and butter.

Do you use bacon and onionin yours? If not, this one might be a little different (also includes an option for potatoes).

one little 8 oz thing of oysters COSTS EIGHT BUCKS!

Wow! $8 bucks!

How much do fresh ones cost in the seafood section, if it's about the same, I'm sure they would be better.

My mom (German) used to make oyster soup and I didn't really like it. It was basically cooked potato, milk and butter served with saltines.

If I was to craft such a dish, I think the first thing I would do is locate a good old Maine Clam Chowdah recipe and use oysters instead of clams.

It has a much more substantial constitution overall and is almost decadent in it's flavor...real nice when you come in from the cold.

Here's the basics:

2 cups of canned minced clams, chopped clams or baby clams or a combination of any or all, then well drain (save juice from canned clams to cook potatoes in)
1 tablespoon of granular garlic or two garlic cloves mashed and finely chopped
6 strips of bacon very finely chopped (freeze before chopping)
1/2 medium sweet onion finely chopped
1-1/2 lbs of red potatoes diced less than 1/2” pieces, peeled if you wish
2 cups of finely chopped potatoes (in addition to the 1.5 lbs)
2 teaspoons of finely chopped fresh basil
1/2 teaspoon of ground thyme
1/2 teaspoon of ground rosemary
1 quart of heavy cream
1/4 lb of salted butter
1/2 cup of sour cream
Oyster crackers

Is that killer or what? I think I'll have to make some. You will want to scale it down if you just have a couple of people. I'll post the link below for the specific details.

There is nothing that I know of, as an American male, that is not enhanced with adding bacon. Bring on the pork bellies!

Hi ya FT!

Thanks! Your support for my Hawks is appreciated!

Totally understand that you’ll have to support NE in the SB :-)

We actually have a lot of ospreys in WA state, too. I’ve seen them flying next to the freeway with nests on top of the large lamp poles.

The Seahawks mascot, Blitz, is a blue bird in a Hawks uniform. They also always have the “real” mascot, Taima, at every game, too - he leads the Seahawks team out of the tunnel

Taima:

Some may disagree more strongly than others.

I might.

Right now, FNS panel talking about the Benghazi Report. Referring to Susan Rice lying to the American Public.

Did anyone see the Judge Jeanine video, ripping Hitlary to shreds?

YUM-YUM, I’ll have to try this. My husband will think he died and went to Heaven. Thanks for the link.

Now back to MTP.....Bridgegate-hurt Christie.....Benghazi-a non-issue for Hillary.....no one paying attention, gee I wonder why?

Gates on now.

I’m an American female and agree - bacon enhances almost everything!!! IMHO it really adds to Clam Chowder (among other things) but most folks don’t include it.

Republicans adding their own appendix to the report heavily laying blame and responsibility on Cankles, Wallace asks if that is fair.

Wahn whines that it isn’t fair, she’s a presidental candidate... “intelligence wasn’t that good” Wallace disagrees.

Brit and others immediately and condescendingly slap him down.

I knew there was something special about you AB. Anybody who loves oyster stew is okay in my book.

In fact I am eating a cup now.

Got me a bowl of oyster stew, some homemade cole slaw and a toasted English muffin for lunch today.

In 16 hours should be about 2 am in the morn. I’ll probably be sleeping but let yourself in but be mindful of the dog!

How many more times will I be able to listen to Juan Williams? He is a caricature of a liberal pundit these days. He is living in denial, and it is painful to watch his collapse from rational thought.
