The U.S. Justice Department is likely to widen a ban on the profiling of suspects by race to include other categories such as religion, country of origin, gender and sexual orientation, a person familiar with an internal review said on Thursday.

Broadening the ban would mark a major policy shift for U.S. law enforcement and would address a frequent complaint by minorities in America who feel they are singled out for unwarranted extra scrutiny.

Federal agents have been prohibited from profiling potential criminal suspects by race in almost all cases since 2003, but complaints persist of the unwarranted targeting of religious or other groups, including Muslims and Sikhs.

99% of terrorists are Muslims, but we are not supposed to profile them -- we might as well just disband intelligence and law enforcement agencies...

But I am sure they have no problem in profiling tea-party groups...

Unless you are a conservative...

Then every Federal agency will lie, cheat, and connive to accuse you falsely.

LucianOfSamasota:" Then every Federal agency will lie, cheat, and connive to accuse you falsely."

According to the recently released NSA information release , the can contact and infuse information into your computer, even if it is not on the internet ,
and can be done by radio-wave via wy-fi .
therefore, they can/ could 'infuse' your computer with data that you never saw ,.. or allowed .
I believe the legal term is " entrapment " !!

They should make sure “criminal” is on the list, and they will eliminate all those whiny complaints.

Three more years of this tyranny, and there’s no guarantee that after that it won’t keep piling on, much less be rolled back. This monstrous mistake in the White House is determined to re-enact the Bolshevik revolution, with an added racial angle, before he’s finished.

So a BOLO would look a lot like a crime story in the Waco Tribune:

Somebody robbed xxxxxx at 12:32 AM on N 18th St. There were 4 victims and 12 witnesses but we're not gonna offend anyone by describing the perps, making it easier for them to:
1. Avoid capture.
and
2. Do it again.

Yes, we think more about being PC than the Public's safety...
