Hopes for undocumented immigrants stranded in political limbo will have to wait at least another year. In a wide-ranging interview on congress’s next session, Representative Darrell Issa, who drafted the high-skilled version of immigration reform, says there’s too much “animosity” on the issue within the government to find a meaningful compromise before the next election.
“Comprehensive immigration reform is hard to do with the best environment between the executive branch between the House and Senate. We don’t have the best opportunity,” he explains. “if we can find a compromise that is bi-partisan on the 11 million [undocumented workers], I think we begin to defuse some of the animosity. It doesn’t mean we get a bill past for the next election.”
There is a serious tech-talent shortage in Silicon Valley, but the relatively popular plan to admit more high-skilled immigrants has been held hostage to comprehensive reform, which includes finding a solution to the roughly 11 million undocumented workers currently living in the United States.

How about enforcing existing immigration laws as a “compromise”.
In other words, they want to wait until a non election year to give the peasants plenty of time to forget their treachery.

Well it was those illegal aliens who got themselves stranded..in the US..
tell them to just go back home...

I think our current immigration law call for deportation.
Immigration reform - yes, in 2014 - yes!!
I support immigration reform in 2014 - it is a must - and this what I support:
#1 is seal both north and south borders from illegal entry.
#2 remove all Obama restrictions on the Border Patrol and allow them to do their jobs.
#3. All Immigration judges are to order immediate deportation of all illegal aliens charged with crimes - all crimes.
#4. Pass legislation forbidding illegal aliens from accessing any and all welfare benefits derived from federal funds. (ditto - education)
#5. strictly enforce the law prohibiting employers from hiring illegal aliens.
#6. Pass stringent laws denying citizenship to children born of two non-citizens (legal or illegal) The Constitution does so state this but has been misinterpreted over the years per some(many?)constitutional scholars.
With the above in place self-deportation will take place. This is real immigration reform

How about just Comprehensive Enforcement?
If it passes after this years elections we the voters made very bad choices!
So “our guy” is saying we can breathe easy for a year until we become the United States of Chihuahua. How comforting.
The trouble is that congress fears the Brown KKK (La Raza, MALDEF, etc.) more than they do citizens and legal residents.
If illegal immigrants are undocumented workers, then shoplifters are undocumented shoppers.
