Rep. Darrell Issa's agenda in 2014: IRS, Benghazi and Fast and Furious
The Hill ^ | January 12, 2014 | Molly K. Hooper

Posted on 01/12/2014 4:48:46 AM PST by maggief

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) in 2014 will pursue the IRS scandal, the deadly Benghazi attack and the botched Fast and Furious operation in what will likely be his last year as the House GOP's chief investigator.

Issa sounded a cautionary note that the investigations might not conclude while he has the gavel. “The administration wraps up investigations. We are done when we are done … there shouldn’t be any sort of effort to load in or unload" before his term limit of six years as the top Republican on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee ends in December.

Rep. John Mica (Fla.), the GOP lawmaker who is the favorite to replace Issa as chairman, said he “supports Mr. Issa and our investigative efforts during the balance of his term. He’s done an excellent job. We have had unprecedented stonewalling. [The administration has been] masters at keeping the committee and Congress at bay.”

Mica told The Hill that he hopes to “have a shot at” the gavel if he gets reelected, and if his party continues to control the House.

A key Republican on the committee, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (Utah), said that “there’s a lot more to come” on Benghazi, as well as “investigations from healthcare to the IRS to Fast and Furious.”

Ideally, Issa would like to conclude one of the first high-profile investigations launched shortly after he became chairman in 2011: the gunrunning “Fast and Furious” case.

“I'd like to have Fast and Furious be a closed case,” Issa said, pointing out that the courts are still reviewing access-to-documents disputes between Republicans and the administration.

Well, I hope his support of Immigration Reform, doesn’t derail any of his attention.

Ya think?

No-s stated it well... IMO.

“He’s documenting the excesses of Holder and the Obama administration in a public forum. There’s little chance the House can do anything about it now, the Senate won’t go along...”

I hope Issa's support of Immigration Reform, doesn’t derail his attention to these other scandals.

Issa should be investigating so-called "DREAMERS" just here for "a better life":

<><> using stolen SS nos, several phony drivers' licenses,

<><> committing rampant ID theft

<><> on violent killing sprees...killing Americans w/ cars, machetes, weapons,

<><> cashing multiple US govt checks: UI, SSI, Workmen's Comp, TANF (temporary assistance to needy families), WICS (food assistance), subsidized Section 8 shelter, ObamaPhone subsidies, Utility Assistance subsidies, $5000 a year EITC checks per identity, hefty monthly "asylum" checks from SS ....

<><> wire transferring large amounts of proceeds from ID thefts, drug sales, and US govt checks----for early retirement in a sun-drenched Third World paradise.

<><> getting in-state tuition to several US colleges (w/ several identities to get Pell grant checks rolling in regularly).

<><> affiliated w/ violent, America-hating pressure groups plotting to undermine US ntl security and foment armed conflict to take back the SW.

<><> working on Capitol Hill---using govt resources to advance ugly ethnic solidarity; Cong Gutierrez employs several "Dreamers"; Sen McCain, as well,

Maybe it's b/c Dreamers vote under several identities, sometimes in several districts, all on the same day.

Its beginning to look like “career longevity”.

Note to Issa: Get done with it and charge all of them before they can once again slip away undetected. In other words, “Hang the ba$tards”

Darrell Issa’s “agenda” for 2014 is the same as it was for 2013... keep Darrell Issa in the news.

Issa is shaping the battlefield. He is occupying and preparing the ground upon which the battle will be fought “at a time and place of his choosing”

He is the commander of the forces provided by the GOP.He has shunned direct frontal assault. He is making strong attacks from the flanks where the defenses are light. He is probing the defenses with consistent pressure and effort. He is gathering evidence on a host of subjects that when assembled is greater than on the face. There are so many opportunities for investigation that only the most likely to succeed are the places of battle.

Meanwhile, the extremely popular president is seeing his popularity plummet. The fickle press that has been the primary means of his support is showing some indications of desertion. The disaster of Obamacre may on it’s own accord produce such a terrific adverse reaction that the Presidency is damaged beyond repair.

At that point any one of the several investigations can be concluded and issue the coup de grace that kills the presidency and his cohorts in the congress.

bert’s maxim......History is a process, not an event

"We have had unprecedented stonewalling."

Oh cry me a river. These may be unprecedented times but all that says is that Issa is not the man for the moment. All huff and puff with few good results. Where are the firings and the prosecutions and jail sentences?
