As a Republican ?????”
I would suspect he would keep the R behind his name. Article was on FR sometime, I think, during the last week.

Ultimately though GWB lost both wars. While the Iraq “surge” seemed successful, events since in both Iraq and Afghanistan have been failures. GWB said “No More Vietnams” and then delivered another Vietnam.

If the Republican Party of Arizona had any stones at all, they would abolish the open primary rule. This is all bullcrap to give the Party some standing to start the process to sneak in just another one like him or Flake.
Why not censure Flake as well because he ran on virtually the same campaign and is one of the members of the Gang of 8 and a McCain wannabe.

Why don’t the likes of you put just a bit of pressure on the Party to dispense with the open primaries? That won’t be a cure all but it will certainly be a step in the right direction.

Don’t feel bad about voting for McCain. I did it myself. The alternative was unthinkable, but got elected anyway.

I understand that Arizona has open primaries and that McCains money brought democrat crossover voters to get him the nomination in the primary.
IMHO Lettuce McLame won because he had $10-12 MILLION left from his Pres election and ran ads on all TV channels every 15 minutes. JD Hayworth raised a couple of million at best and could not compete against that onslaught given that many voters are considered LIV. McLame had Hayworth kicked off his radio talk show because it was "unfair".
In the general I understand that it is easy for any republican to get elected as the state is predominately GOP.
Not so much any more - Today the state is turning PURPLE with the influx of libtards from CA because they are so anti-business and eco-freaks over there. The last election we now have more RAT Reps than GOP-ers. The political landscape today in AZ is not anything like when I moved here in 1965 - BACK then it was a REAL RED state.
In 2012 RATS picked up seats in the US House and GOP did not.
US House 2012
AZ - RATS pick up two seats and GOP loses one
