Sen. John McCain Faces Censure from Arizona Republicans for ‘Terrible Record’
Top Right News ^ | January 8, 2014

Posted on 01/08/2014 6:37:58 PM PST by BulletBobCo

The Maricopa County GOP in Arizona have decided to censure Senator John McCain. The resolution accuses John McCain of abandoning the issues of the GOP and to siding with the liberals in the senate and Barack Obama in passing legislation, his constituents oppose, including amnesty for tens of millions of illegal aliens, and betraying his promises to secure the border (“Complete the dang fence“).

John McCain Censured by Arizona’s Republican Leadership

As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened. So with sadness and humility we rise and declare:

Whereas Senator McCain has amassed a long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, the debt ceiling, assaults on the Constitution and 2nd amendment, and has continued to support liberal nominees;

Whereas this record has been disastrous and harmful to Arizona and the United States; and,

Whereas Senator McCain has campaigned as a conservative and made promises during his re-election campaigns, such as the needed and welcomed promise to secure our borders and finish the border fence, only to quickly flip-flop on those promises; and

Whereas McCain has abandoned our core values and has been eerily silent against Liberals, yet publicly reprimands Conservatives in his own Party, therefore

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Republican leadership censures Senator McCain for his continued disservice to our State and Nation, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that until he consistently champions our Party’s Platform and values, we, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for or endorse John McCain as our U.S. Senator.

I’d bet dollars to donuts, that if you actually surveyed a large cross section of Arizona Republicans, you’d find that most of them can’t stand the guy, and that they’d welcome a new rep in his seat.

Our system is just rigged to favor incumbents.

Yup.

When the Arizona held their noses and voted for “Whacko Bird” McCain, they did so out of loyalty to the GOP.

Now the high information Republicans know that Democrats and RINOs that vote with Democrats are the same.

2014 would be a good year for McCain to come to the aid of the GOP and RESIGN!

Recall is unconstitutional against elected federal positions. So says SCOTUS.

The Republicans in Arizona convinced themselves that McCain was a better bet than J. D. Hayworth, based on two actual bonehead mistakes Hayworth made.

Nevermind that McCain had made hundreds.

"Who cares? The voters had TWO chances to get rid of his sorry a$$."

Or... in the words of his senate soul mate - "what difference does it make at this point?"

Maricopa county is BY FAR the largest population of GOPers in AZ. McLame will ignore these Waco-birds. It's WAAAAYYYY past time to send him into retirement - yet somehow he (and Romney) were elevated to to the top national GOP spot...?

John has lost it, and it speaks to the weakness of his AZ challengers and AZ voters.

BTW, thx, for keeping me on your ping list, my friend. I appreciate you very much and fail to say so. Rita.

I was fortunate to have Bob Barr on the ballot. There was
n-o-t-h-i-n-g that could get my vote for John Liberal McCain.

I rebelled at that socialist nomination before it was even cool. No way, no how was his theater pick of Palin going to bring him my vote.

McCain, Romney, Dole nominees are bookends for the end of the Republican Party. W. Bush was one dementional, on the war and muscular, but that’s about it for his expertise.

I understand that Arizona has open primaries and that McCain’s money brought democrat crossover voters to get him the nomination in the primary.

In the general I understand that it is easy for any republican to get elected as the state is predominately GOP.

So it looks as if McCain is indeed a genuine democrat under republican label or RINO.

Before 9/11/01 there was a recall going on. We were well on the way to having enough signatures to recall him, but then 9/11/01 happened, and the recall attempt was canceled in order to "unite against the enemy." I said then that it was a mistake, and we would regret it, but almost everyone else involved in the effort decided to end the petition drive. I still have my recall McLame banner, and I'd be more than willing to gather signatures again.

Hey, McLame: Póg Mo Thóin, you slimy POS!

Does AZ have open primaries?

Yes, and as I recall, McPain was very instrumental in pressuring the state GOP to keep it open during the last election.

He ran a scorched earth campaign against J.D. Hayworth.

Yep! All McCain will do is grit his teeth and scream “F... You!” He betrayed his fellow prisoners. Why would he give a damn about his fellow citizens? This country would have been a lot better off if McCain’s, Hagel’s and Kerry’s names were on the wall. But that would sully the real heroes whose names belong there.

Remember that he actually ran to the right of JD Hayworth in order to “win” re selection.
